用葱园内蚯蚓粪，以甘草汁调搽肿处，或薄荷汁调亦可。（《保赤良方》）

Take earthworm feces from a scallion garden, mix with Licorice Juice (Gancao Zhi, 甘草汁) and apply to the swollen area; or mix with Mint Juice (Bohe Zhi, 薄荷汁). (From *Baochi Liangfang*)
Another method: First wash the area with a decoction of Scallion (Congbai, 葱白) and Sichuan Pepper (Huajiao, 花椒). Then, take earthworm feces mixed with soil, grind into powder, mix with saliva, and apply. (From *Shen Jingyuan Pediatric Manuscript*)
Have the child's mother use a bellows to blow air onto the swollen area, which will reduce the swelling. (From *Tujing*)
Another method: Apply duck saliva and inhale/absorb the breath from the duck's mouth; the swelling will subside naturally. (From *Yiliang Li Family Prescriptions*)
Grind Borax (Pengsha, 硼砂, 1 fen) with water and apply; it is very effective. (From *Youke Jiami*)
Rhizoma Polygoni Cuspidati (Dahuang, 大黄), Concha Ostreae (Muli, 牡蛎) (each 5 qian), Natrii Sulfas (Puxiao, 朴硝) (3 qian). Grind all into fine powder. Take a clean field snail, keep it in water overnight, collect the liquid secreted by the snail, mix with the powder, and apply to the swollen area for cure. (From *Douzhen Chuanxin*)
Crush Chinese Yam (Shanyao, 山药) into a paste, apply frequently to the affected area, and replace when dry. (From *Baoying Dexiong Fang*)
Swelling of the lower body, including from the waist/navel down to both feet, is caused by Damp-Heat in the Spleen Meridian (Pi Jing Shi Re, 脾经湿热). Urgently use Croton Seed (Badou, 巴豆, 4 qian, oil removed), Lead Oxide (Shufen, 水粉, 2 qian), and Sulfur (Liuhuang, 硫黄, 1 qian). Grind evenly and form into a cake. Wrap the medicine in a piece of new cotton, place on the navel, and bind tightly with cloth for a period. It will naturally cause the discharge of foul fluid. After 3-5 discharges, remove the medicine and drink congee to stop. (From *Yizong Jinjian*)
For prolonged diarrhea and dysentery leading to Sinking of Middle Qi (Zhongqi Xiaxian, 中气下陷) and extreme thinness of the intestines and stomach, causing prolapse of the anus that cannot retract. Use Chebula Fruit (Hezi, 诃子), Red Kaolin (Chishizhi, 赤石脂), and Fossilized Bones (Longgu, 龙骨) (equal parts). Grind into fine powder, mix with aged tea (Lacha, 腊茶), sprinkle the powder on the protruding rectal mucosa, and gently push it back using cotton cloth. (Ibid.)
In children with severe accumulated Heat (Jire Dasheng, 积热大盛), the anus swells due to straining during defecation, causing rectal prolapse. Use dried Earthworm (Di Long, 地龙, 1 liang, cleaned and dried), and Weathered Glauber's Salt (Fenghua Puxiao, 风化朴硝, 2 qian). Grind into fine powder and mix uniformly. Use 2-3 qian per application. If the anus is moist, apply dry powder; if dry, mix with sesame oil. First, wash with warm water decocted from Schizonepeta (Jingjie, 荆芥) and Raw Scallion (Shengcong, 生葱), wipe dry, then apply the medicine. (Ibid.)
