There are eighteen types of Chuan Shi Lao Chong (Transmitting Corpse Parasites). [Text cuts off] worm, resembling a toad, causing vomiting, hiccups, preference for vomiting, gastric discomfort, and craving for mud, charcoal, uncooked rice, tea, salt, ginger, pepper, etc.; Seventh is Ge Chong (Diaphragm Worm), resembling melon seeds, causing excessive salivation; Eighth is Chi Chong (Red Worm), resembling raw meat, causing borborygmus; Ninth is Tuo Chong (Pinworm), resembling vegetable worms, extremely minute in shape.
Generally, all these worms arise from irregular diet, improper balance of hunger and fullness, excessive consumption of raw fish and roasted meats, or eating turtle and amaranth together. This leads to stagnation in Zhongwan (CV-12) due to impaired movement of Qi and Blood, forming accumulations. Over time, accumulations generate heat. Damp-heat steams and fumes, condensing with blood stasis. Following the Qi of the Five Elements, they transform into various strange forms, just as decaying grass turns into fireflies.
In cases of worm syndromes, the area above and below the eye sockets is blue-black, complexion is sallow and withered, there are distinct red blood vessels on the face resembling crab claws, loss of appetite, lack of muscle growth, heaviness, and alternating cold and fever. If not treated early, the cycle continues endlessly, piercing the heart and causing death.
