Treats syndromes such as slippery diarrhea due to Yin deficiency, turbid leukorrhea, strangury with enuresis, and irregular menstruation or uterine bleeding due to deficiency. This formula specifically targets the Liver and Kidney.
Shu Di Huang (Prepared Rehmanniae Radix) [3-5 qian], Tu Si Zi (Cuscutae Semen, stir-fried) [2-3 qian], Shan Yao (Dioscoreae Rhizoma, stir-fried) [2 qian], Yu Rou (Corni Fructus) [1 qian], Gan Cao (Licorice Root, honey-fried) [1-2 qian], Yuan Zhi (Polygalae Radix, heart removed) [2 qian]. If there is insufficiency of Yang Qi in the Lower Jiao accompanied by lower abdominal pain and blood failing to return to its vessels, add Jin Ying Zi (Chrysanthemi Fructus) [2-3 qian]; if there is Qi sinking and failure to secure, add Sheng Ma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma, stir-fried).
(Ju Fang: Referring to *Tai Ping Hui Min He Ji Ju Fang*) Treats nocturnal emission, white turbidity, and Qiang Zhong disease (priapism) accompanied by Xiao Ke (wasting-thirst syndrome).
Tu Si Zi (Cuscutae Semen) [10 liang], Wu Wei Zi (Schisandrae Fructus) [8 liang], Shan Yao (Dioscoreae Rhizoma) [6 liang], Bai Fu Ling (Poria), Shi Lian Rou (Nelumbinis Plumula) [3 liang]. Soak Tu Si Zi in wine; after soaking, take with rice water decoction.
Tu Si Zi is acrid and sweet, with a neutral nature; it strengthens Yin and benefits Yang, treating cold sperm, strangury, and wasting-thirst. Wu Wei Zi nourishes the Kidney and generates fluids; Shi Lian clears Heart fire and stops turbidity; Shan Yao strengthens the Spleen and promotes diuresis to eliminate pathogenic factors.
Treats weakness of the Heart and Spleen Qi. For patients who suffer from nocturnal emission upon mental exertion or fatigue, this formula is appropriate.
Shan Yao (Dioscoreae Rhizoma, stir-fried) [2 qian], Zao Ren (Ziziphi Spinosomi Semen, stir-fried), Fu Ling (Poria) [1.3 qian], Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) [1.5 qian], Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma) [2-3 qian], Zhi Tu Si Zi (Processed Cuscutae Semen, stir-fried) [4 qian]. Add Nu Mi (Glutinous Rice) [4-5 chi]. Decoct in water and drink.
Treats nocturnal emission and white turbidity. (The orifices for the discharge of semen and turbidity differ: Bian Zhuo [turbidity in urine] is Gao Lin [paste-like strangury], caused by Fire of the Liver and Gallbladder; Jing Zhuo [turbid semen] occurs when urination is normal but semen is turbid, caused by insufficiency of Kidney Water and steaming by Ministerial Fire, causing semen to leave its proper position.)
Jin Ying Gao (Paste of Chrysanthemi Fructus): Select semi-ripe Jin Ying Zi, boil down to make one jin of paste. Fully ripe fruits are entirely sweet and lose their astringent taste. Qian Shi (Euryales Semen) one jin, steam until cooked and grind into powder. Mix to form pills, taken with salted wine.
Jin Ying Zi and Qian Shi: Sweetness benefits essence, moistening nourishes Yin, and astringency stops leakage. One grows in water, one on land; hence named "Shui Lu Er Xian Dan" (Two Immortals of Water and Land Pill).
Treats deficiency-cold of the Spleen and Stomach, or abdominal pain and diarrhea due to food stagnation and Qi stagnation that persists for a long time. Frequent consumption will yield effective results.
Wash Bai Nuo Mi (White Glutinous Rice) with boiling water, stir-fry until fragrant and fully cooked, then grind into powder. For every one liang of powder, add two fen and half of dried Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma, stir-fried), and two qian of Bai Tang (Rock Sugar). Mix well and consume when hungry.
