粟米疮生两睑中，医来尽是烂眩风。或多或少全无数，大而兼细不相同。脾积热，贼风

水轮如豆复乌珠，蟹睛虾眼两无殊。肝肾虚疼因客热，至能损目要知乎。泪不止，证难
除，补肝补肾两相扶。医人活法在眼法，药不执方眼不辜。
此是肝虚热痛也，此疾难治也。宜服桂枝汤、防风散、胜金散。

Song Ci: "Zhegu Tian"
The fleshy growth (Bao Rou) in the eyelid grows resembling clam meat, with a bright red color. It may appear green or black, requiring careful differentiation. The pain is unbearable, causing tears to pour from both eyes. There is extreme photophobia and aversion to light (Xiu Ming). The cause is exogenous heat (Ke Re) in the Spleen Meridian. One should relax the mind and take Shi Ming San frequently; activating blood circulation and harmonizing will restore peace. Suitable formulas include Yan Dian Wan, Huo Xue San, Mi Meng Hua San, and Ling Yang Jiao San.

Song Ci: "Zhegu Tian"
Millet-like sores grow in the middle of both eyelids; physicians diagnose this as Lan Xuan Feng (a type of ophthalmic disease). The quantity varies greatly, with no fixed number, differing in size and fineness. This is due to accumulated heat in the Spleen attacked by thief wind (Ze Feng). Treatment involves acupuncture or cauterization to remove the wind-sores. Using Qu Feng San and Xiao Feng San, if physicians analyze carefully, it will be effective.
This condition is caused by the Spleen Meridian being invaded by thief wind and pathogenic heat. Suitable formulas include Fang Ji San, Huo Xue San, Ju Bao San, and Fu Shou San.

Song Ci: "Zhegu Tian"
The coagulated fat in the fleshy growth (Bao Rou) is difficult to resolve, all due to excessive Heart Fire causing mutual damage. This leads to eyelid swelling like peaches or plums, with frequent pain and pouring hot tears. Clearing Heart Fire brings peace; using Xiao Feng San to dissipate blood stasis gradually restores vision. Manual techniques combined with acupuncture and cauterization are recommended to prevent pathogenic wind from damaging the eyes.
This condition is caused by wind-heat invading the Spleen Meridian. Suitable formulas include San Hua Wu Zi Wan, Ju Bao San, and Qiang Huo San.

Song Ci: "Zhegu Tian"
Pus discharges from leaking eyes (Lou Jing), suffering in Li Gong (referring to the Heart/eye region); blazing Heart Fire attacks with toxic heat. Qi stagnation remains at the canthus corners, forming pus and blood that flow endlessly. After a long duration, it becomes very dangerous, potentially leading to the eyeball falling out. Taking Bai Wei Wan and Xi Xin San will clear the toxic heat.
This condition is caused by toxic heat attacking between the Heart and Spleen meridians. Suitable formulas include San Hua Wu Zi Wan, Zhen Gan San, and Qiang Huo San.

Song Ci: "Zhegu Tian"
The Water Wheel (Shui Lun, referring to the pupil) is bean-sized and dark/black; Crab Eye (Xie Jing) and Shrimp Eye symptoms are indistinguishable. Liver and Kidney deficiency pain is due to exogenous heat; one must know this can damage the eyes. Tears do not stop, and the syndrome is hard to eliminate; tonifying the Liver and Kidneys supports each other. Physicians' skill lies in specialized ocular methods; applying medicine without rigid adherence to fixed prescriptions ensures the eyes are not harmed (i.e., cured).
This is Liver deficiency with heat and pain; this disease is difficult to treat. Suitable formulas include Gui Zhi Tang, Fang Feng San, and Sheng Jin San.
