Wubeizi (Galla Chinensis, crushed, removing insect-damaged powder) Manjingzi (Vitex Fruit, selected and cleaned)
The above two herbs are decocted for washing the eyes.
A maid in the household of Yangzheng, brother of Fu Jiwan, used this prescription with effective results.
Another method uses leaves of Rubus chingii (Fupenzi Ye), boiled until cooked, and the juice is applied to the eyes; nowadays people call it Yuan Gou Zi. Alternatively, some say to cover the eyes with gauze, wipe with the medicine, and after a short while, countless small insects will appear on the gauze.
Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix, about one cun long) Tongqing (Chalcanthite, one piece, size of a black soybean) Xingren (Prunus Armeniaca Seed, two kernels, remove tips, keep skin)
Finely chop each herb, place in a cup, soak in freshly drawn cold water, and heat over a boiling water pot until extremely hot. Wash the eyes while hot. If there is pain, add several slices of Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix).
One field snail, raised in water for several days, clean all mud and sand. When the operculum opens, insert a bean-sized amount of Chalcanthite inside, which will instantly turn into water. Use a goose feather to dip the water and brush the affected eye; repeated applications will lead to recovery. Do not use other medicines to treat other conditions, as they may enter the eye and cause recurrence.
Another prescription, transmitted by Chen Xingzhi.

He recovered thereafter; it is very wonderful.
