Detoxification: Includes mushroom poisoning, pufferfish poisoning, insect poisoning, snake and insect poisoning, bee and scorpion poisoning, centipede poisoning, cat and dog bite poisoning, Taenia (tapeworm), insects entering the ear, and lice removal.

This is a prescription by Yu Liangneng, passed down from Ge Cheng. It can resolve all kinds of drug poisonings, as well as poisons from harmful plants, Colocasia esculenta seeds, mushrooms, minerals and metals, toxins from eating animals that died naturally, seasonal epidemic qi, mountain malarial fevers, acute throat closure, wind wrapping around the throat, spleen disease causing yellow swelling, red eyes, sores and boils, cold exposure, death by hanging, drowning, or fatal fractures. As long as the heart remains slightly warm and less than one night has passed, it is suitable to use fresh ginger and honey water ground into a paste for administration to restore consciousness. For carbuncles and back abscesses before ulceration, fish-umbilicus sores, various malignant sores, swellings and toxic masses, burns and scalds, bites from insects, dogs, and rats, grind and take internally, along with one pill; after a while, itching will be felt and the condition will immediately subside. For contusions and fractures, take half a pill ground in roasted pine joint wine. For men suffering from possession by evil spirits leading to manic walking, or women suffering from ghost qi or ghost fetus, take one pill ground in warm wine divided into two doses, which can cure itself. Previously, a woman suffered from consumption (tuberculosis) for a long time, her life hanging by a thread; this illness was caused by blood corpse worms devouring her. After taking the medicine, she expelled over a thousand small worms, one large one broken exactly in two halves. Later, she only took Suhexiang Wan (Storax Pill), and recovered fully within half a month. Rescue efforts are invariably effective. People living at home or traveling should always have this medicine; it is truly a treasure for saving lives and protecting families. In Lingnan, if one feels slight discomfort, taking it brings immediate relief. In the valleys of Liangguang, there is a grass called Humian Grass. Swallowing it with fast water causes rapid death, while swallowing it with slow water causes delayed death. Another method involves killing a venomous snake, covering it with the grass, sprinkling water on it, grinding it into powder, mixing with wine to poison people. Initially, there is no harm, but drinking alcohol afterwards causes immediate death upon toxin activation. Local custom dictates that adulterous women often commit suicide and refuse to return with northerners; they secretly place the drug in food. When northerners return north, they are warned: "You will return in such-and-such year." If they do not go when the time expires, they will surely die. This is called the "Fixed-Year Drug," and northerners visiting there should bear this in mind. If one suspects poisoning, especially if drugs were placed in pork, beef, mutton, goose, duck, etc., and these foods are consumed again triggering the toxin, urgently take one pill of this medicine.

Clam Shell (Wenli, 3 liang, choose pale reddish-yellow ones, crush clean; *Bencao* states Wubeizi is also named Wenli), Red-bud Euphorbia Root (Hongya Daji, 1.5 liang, clean wash), Mountain Garlic Bulb (Shancigu, 2 liang, wash; this is the root of *Swertia mileensis*, also known as Jindenghua), Spurge Seed (Xuisui Zi, 1 liang, remove shell and weigh, grind finely, wrap in paper, press to remove oil, then grind like white frost), Musk (Shexiang, 3 fen, grind).

Dry the first three ingredients above and grind into fine powder. Add Musk and Xuisui Zi, grind evenly. Use glutinous rice porridge to make pills. Each batch divides into forty pills. Prepare on Dragon Boat Festival, Qixi Festival, or Double Ninth Festival. If urgent use is needed, Chen day is also acceptable. Place in a wooden mortar and pound hundreds of times. Do not let women, mourners, unclean persons, chickens, or dogs see it. Keep strictly secret and do not disseminate widely; neglecting this renders it ineffective. Song Dynasty Canyi Fang Tangshi recorded different methods, now listed below:

For carbuncles and back abscesses before ulceration, grind with ice water, apply to painful area, and take internally; after a while, itching occurs and the condition subsides immediately. For Yin-Yang dual toxicity, typhoid with chest oppression, manic delirium, chest and diaphragm stagnation, undischarged pathogenic toxins, epidemics, mountain miasma, and wind wrapping around the throat, grind with cold water plus one small mint leaf. For possession by evil spirits, shouting and erratic walking, ghost fetus, and ghost qi, administer with warm non-ash wine. For death by hanging or drowning where the head is still warm, or death from fright/spirit possession within one night, grind with cold water and force-feed. For snake, dog, or centipede bites, grind with cold water and apply to the wound. For various malaria, regardless of new or old, grind with freshly decocted peach and willow twig soup. For pediatric acute or chronic convulsions, five types of malnutrition (Gan syndrome), and five types of dysentery, grind with honey water and one small mint leaf. For locked jaw, grind and apply, or hold a small amount in mouth and swallow. For burns and scalds, grind with east-flowing water and apply to the wound. For contusions and injuries, take with roasted pine joint non-ash wine. For chronic headache involving Taiyang channel pain, mix wine with mint and ground paper flowers, apply externally. For muscle spasms, joint wind swelling, hand and foot pain, difficulty walking, and any wind-dampness pain, grind with wine and take internally. Pregnant women must not take this formula. Another formula consists of Wubeizi 15 liang, Daji 7.5 liang, Shancigu 11 liang, Xuisui Zi 10 liang (roasted, oil not removed), and Shexiang 0.5 liang.

Wang Pai'an Xingzhi stated that the military governor of Shaoxing Prefecture used this medicine. His son drowned and appeared dead; using this method, he revived!
