Next, add Songzhi and Xuxiang, stirring for a while longer. Then add Shexiang and Huangla, and stir thoroughly. Subsequently, add Huandan, Hufen, Shiyen, and Shuiyin, stirring rapidly over a mild fire without stopping. Test by dropping a small amount into a bowl of cold water; if it hardens, remove from heat. Shenzhu San (Divine Assistance Powder) [Source: *Wei Shi Fang*]: Treats fistulous sores persisting for over ten years.
Ingredients: Binglang (Areca Seed), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma, remove stamens).
Preparation: Equal parts ground into fine powder. Take one live eel, throw it on the ground, wait for it to coil, then pierce it with five to seven bamboo needles. Place the eel over the sore for a prolonged period. Upon removal, dozens of white worms should be found attached like needles. Remove them and repeat. Healing occurs within a month. This is because elderly patients have cold Qi and Blood, requiring Moxa (Ai Ye) to assist Yang; Moxa also kills parasites. Washing the sore causes worms to move after a month, and Qi and Blood follow suit. Thus, the sore cannot close immediately, or scarring will cause severe pain due to the presence of worms.
