黑色烟出为度。取一枚劈破。心内如米一点白恰好也。如白多再炒。趁热杵罗为

Wulai (Black Leprosy). Initially, there is a sensation of alteration in the skin and flesh. Between the muscle layers and interstices, there is an itching sensation as if insects are moving. Visual hallucinations resembling suspended silk threads appear before the eyes. Paroxysms of fear and panic occur frequently.
Pí Wán (Bark Pill) (from *Shenghui Fang*)

Dugongpi (Cortex Broussonetiae, one piece, roasted until yellow) Haige (Concha Arcae, one large piece, roasted) Ranshetou (Head of Boa Constrictor, one piece, roasted yellow) Mengchong (Tabanus Fly, five pieces, wings and legs removed, stir-fried) Linglijia (Scute of Pangolin, five pieces, stir-fried) Wugong (Centipede, seven strips, head and feet removed, stir-fried) Douchi (Fermented Soybean, seven grains, stir-fried until done) Gao (Paste, ground to one tael) Shujiao (Sichuan Pepper, one fen) Fanshi (Alum, calcined and ground to one tael) Gansui (Radix Euphorbiae Kansui, one fen, stir-fried with Sesame Seed until sesame is cooked, discard sesame). The above herbs are crushed and sieved, separately ground fine, mixed evenly. Made into pills the size of paulownia seeds using refined honey. Take one to two pills with warm water each time, once on an empty stomach and once before bed. If ineffective, increase by one pill. Pain in the urethra during urination indicates that the parasites have transformed and are being discharged like mucus. If pain is severe, stop one pill; if pain is slight, increase to three pills. Another prescription for Bailai (White Leprosy) includes Xiaoshi (Niter) and Banmao (Mylabris), but lacks Banmao; take with warm wine.

Chuanwutou (Rhizoma Aconiti Carmichaelii) Xiong (Rhizoma Chuanxiong) Xionghuang (Realgar, ground and added later) Hufen (Lead Carbonate, ground and added later) Chuanshengma (Rhizoma Cimicifugae) Mufangji (Herba Stephaniae Tetrandrae) Cihuang (Orpiment, ground and added later) Huanglian (Rhizoma Coptidis, remove roots) Baifan (White Alum) Lilu (Veratrum Nigrum) Huangbai (Cortex Phellodendri, half tael each) Badou (Seed Crotonis Tiglii, peel and remove oil) Xingren (Seed Armeniacae, fourteen pieces, peel) Songzhi (Pine Resin, size of a chicken egg) Luankua (Human Hair, size of a chicken egg). The above herbs are finely chopped like soybean grains. Fry together with two sheng of lard until the hair is completely dissolved. Filter out the dregs. Then add Xionghuang, Cihuang, and Hufen, mix well. Store in a porcelain jar. Apply to the sores each time. Apply three times from day to night. Wash with hot salt water before each application.

Use five jin of the white bark of Kushen root (Radix Sophorae Flavescentis), finely chopped like hemp seeds. Store in a raw silk bag. Soak in three dou of good wine for seven days in winter or four days in summer. Take warm when needed...
Cihuang San Tu Fang (Orpiment Powder Topical Formula)
Treats Wulai and kills parasites.
Grind half a tael of Cihuang (Orpiment). Mix with rice vinegar and egg white to form a paste. Apply to the sores. Reapply when dry. *Shenghui Fang* uses egg yolk.
Dafuzi Gao Fu Fang (Areca Nut Paste Application Formula) (from *Shenghui Fang*)
Treats Wulai.
Use two fresh Dafuzi (Fructus Arecae). If fresh ones are unavailable, dried ones will do. Use those with intact skins, do not damage them. Soak in one sheng of wine. Simmer slowly until the wine is exhausted...
Wutou Wan (Aconite Pill) (from *Weisheng Jiabao Fang*)
Treats chronic Fenglai (Wind Leprosy), blackening of the whole body, stiffness of muscles and body like wood, rough and dry skin, and numbness/paralysis of the four limbs. Use one jin of Caowutou (Rhizoma Aconiti Kusnezoffii). Place in a bamboo basket, soak in water. Place a tile inside the basket and wash/rub it in the water, similar to cleaning water caltrops. Continue until thoroughly cleaned, then take out and dry. Stir-fry with four liang of Hemp Seed Oil and four liang of Salt in a pot until yellow. Pour off the oil, keeping only the salt and Caowutou. Stop when black smoke appears. Break open one piece; the center should have a small white spot like a grain of rice. If too white, stir-fry again. While hot, crush and sieve. Make pills the size of paulownia seeds using vinegar paste. Dry them. Take three (ten) pills each time with warm wine on an empty stomach before meals.
