[Supplementary Discussion]
Postpartum heart and abdominal pain arises because both Qi (vital energy) and Blood are deficient after childbirth. When cold pathogenic factors invade, they contend with Qi and Blood. Following the upward movement of Qi, it rushes to the Heart, or attacks downward into the Abdomen, thus causing pain in the heart and abdomen. If the pain persists for a long time, it may transform into Hernia syndrome (Hernia disorders).
