The "Sand Particle Disease" (Shazi Bing) did not exist in the Jiangnan region in the past. Now it is found everywhere. Its symptoms resemble Taiyang disease (a syndrome caused by pathogenic factors affecting the Taiyang meridian), including headache, vomiting, nausea, and mental restlessness. It can be fatal within a short time. One should frequently rub the head with a hemp rope until the insect is seen.

Diagnostic Methods
Chills and fever alternate. Wipe with a bamboo pin; the insect has already penetrated deep into the skin. Fanjiu (Fermented Wine) may have continuing effects. Breaking chicken blood can stop bleeding and repel water-related pathogens. People commonly refer to Tingyi as Shougo. The Bencao states that Lizards come in five colors and are called Jia Chong. This insect can attract Sand Leeches to enter human skin. Slight attack also stops bleeding and repels water pathogens.

Musk Powder (She Xiang San)
Treats Sand Leech poisoning.
Musk (a small amount), Cinnabar (a small amount). Grind finely into powder. Apply with salt for recovery.

Mutton Fat Ointment (Yang Zhi Gao) (from Qianjin Fang)
Treats Sand Leech toxicity.
Musk, Garlic. Pound them together. Mix with mutton fat. Carry in a small tube while traveling. When needed, apply the mixture to the sore.

Ru Sheng San (Like-Sage Powder)
Treats Sand Leech toxicity.
Apply a small amount of She Wang (Aconite Root Preparation) to the sore. If not recovered after five days, take Ba Dou Tang (Croton Seed Decoction). Take one Croton seed on the first day, two seeds on the second day, calculated accordingly.

Treatment for Sand Leech Toxicity (from Qianjin Fang)
Use two Blister Beetles (Ban Mao). Grind one into powder and take it orally. Burn the other until smoke ceases, grind into powder, and apply to the sore.

Another Prescription
Apply juice from Bai Hao Cao (Artemisia argyi) and Ju Cai (Lactuca sativa) for recovery.

Treatment for Sand Leeches.
Use five he of salt. Boil with ten dou of water until it boils once. Soak and wash the sore with this liquid.

Another Prescription
If initially there are red spots like rice grains, mix salt and Musk, apply to the area for recovery.

Treating Sand Leeches in the body presenting with red spots like rice grains. After a long time, they feel like thorns embedded in the flesh.
Scrape with Bamboo Leaves until blood appears. Then rub with crushed Garlic. Recovery follows immediately.

Lice Repellent Formula
Mercury (as much as needed). Mix with tea powder in the palm. Grind with saliva until no shiny particles are visible. Apply to a cotton strip and tie it around the infested area.

Dog Flea Repellent Formula
Borneol (as much as needed). Wrap in thin paper. Place beside the pillow or under the quilt. They will disappear.

Treatment for Lice Bites.
Grind Zhu Sha (Cinnabar) with water and apply. Grind Xiong Huang (Realgar) with vinegar and apply.

Treatment for various stream toxins and Sand Leeches.
Boil Bai He (White Lotus Bulb) in water, drink the decoction.

Treatment for Sand Leech Toxicity.
Applying She Wang (Aconite Root Preparation) is excellent.

Treatment for Stream Sand Leeches.
Apply pounded Garlic. Soaked in hot vinegar for a year is best.

Treatment for Sand Leech Water Niu (Water Blister).
Use ten Dung Beetles (Qiang Lang). Collect on the Dragon Boat Festival (Duanwu Day). Dried ones are better. Pounding into powder, mixing with oil, and applying.

Mosquito Repellent.
Use equal parts of Soap Pod (Zao Jiao), Atractylodes Macrocephala Rhizome (Cang Zhu), and Dry Duckweed (Gan Fu Ping). Grind into powder. Form pills the size of beans using rice paste. Dry and burn them.

Repelling Mosquitoes, Lice, and Dog Fleas.
Burn Camel Feces and White Eel Bones ground into powder. There will be none forever. For any new house before moving in, burn this beforehand. Even if the house collapses, there will still be none.
