The condition of "Pi" (abdominal mass) accompanied by an inability to eat is caused by the deficiency and weakness of the Spleen and Stomach, allowing Cold pathogen to invade. The Spleen and Stomach are the officials responsible for storage and processing; when their Qi circulates freely, they can transmit and transform waste, and receive and assimilate food and fluids. Those suffering from "Pi" have Cold accumulating in the abdomen for a long time, failing to nourish the Zang-Fu organs. Since the Spleen and Stomach are weak and pathogenic factors stagnate, there is only a sensation of false fullness and an inability to eat.
