The harm caused by *Suo* (pinworms/parasites) arises when blood and Qi are deficient, allowing wind pathogens to invade upward, thereby generating sores. Whether it is carbuncles (*Ju*), tinea (*Xuan*), leprosy-like lesions (*Lei*), or scabies (*Jie*), none are excluded. If the crusts of the sores are not removed, itching occurs, leading to hair loss in the temples and eyebrows, with no regrowth of lushness; this condition is known as "White Baldness" (*Bai Tu*).

Formulas:

**Duheng Ointment** (also known as Pine Resin Ointment, from *Qianjin Fang*), treats White Baldness, as well as carbuncles and various sores.
Ingredients: *Duheng* (Herba Decursivae), Realgar (*Xionghuang*, Auripigmentum) (ground), Magnolia Bark (*Mulanpi*, Cortex Magnoliae Officinalis) (chopped), Alum (*Fanshi*, Alumen) (ground), Rhubarb (*Dahuang*, Radix et Rhizoma Rhei) (chopped and stir-fried), Aconite Root (*Fuzi*, Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata*) (pao-processed, cracked, skin and umbilicus removed), Shinan Qinjiao (Radix Datiscae).
Preparation: Pound and sieve into powder.
Usage: Apply Mulanpi Ointment first.

**Mulanpi Ointment** (from *Shenghui Fang*), treats White Baldness and various sores.
Ingredients: Magnolia Bark (*Mulan*, Cortex Magnoliae Officinalis), Vitex Fruit (*Manjingzi*, Fructus Viticis Negundo), Gentian Root (*Qinjiao*, Radix Gentianae) (remove seedlings), Aconite Root (*Fuzi*, Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata*) (skin and umbilicus removed, raw use), Sichuan Rhubarb (*Chuan Dahuang*, Radix et Rhizoma Rhei), Shinan (Cortex Datiscae), Sophora Root (*Kushen*, Radix Sophorae Flavescentis) (each one tael).

**Wuweizi Ointment** (also known as Chuangzi Ointment, from *Qianjin Fang*), treats White Baldness with hair loss, formation of white crusts, persisting for a year without healing.
Ingredients: Schisandra Berry (*Wuweizi*, Fructus Schisandrae Chinensis*), Cistanche Stem (*Rou Congrong*, Herba Cistanchis*), Pine Resin (*Songzhi*, Resina Pini), Cnidium Fruit (*Shechuangzi*, Fructus Cnidii*), Polygala Root (*Yuanzhi*, Radix Polygalae*) (remove heart, each three taels), Dodder Seed (*Tusizi*, Semen Cuscutae*) (five taels, soaked in wine overnight then dried).
Preparation: Pound and sieve into powder.
Usage: Filter the powder through new cotton cloth to remove dregs, store in a porcelain jar. Before each use, wash the head thoroughly with ash water from mulberry wood branches, then apply the medicine. Within three applications, hair will grow back.

**Fangfeng Pills** (from *Shengji Zonglu*), treats White Baldness with hair loss.
Ingredients: Saposhnikovia Root (*Fangfeng*, Radix Saposhnikoviae*) (remove forked roots), Coptis Rhizome (*Huanglian*, Rhizoma Coptidis*) (remove whiskers), Prepared Rehmannia Root (*Sheng Gan Dihuang*, Radix Rehmanniae Preparata*) (dried, each four taels), Vitex Fruit (*Manjing Shi*, Fructus Viticis Negundo*), Citrus Peel (*Gan Pi*, Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae*) (dried, one and a half taels), Polygonatum Rhizome (*Weirui*, Rhizoma Polygonati Odorati*).

**Shengma Ointment** (from *Shengji Zonglu*), treats White Baldness with hair loss.
Ingredients: Cimicifuga Rhizome (*Shengma*, Rhizoma Cimicifugae*), Shepherd's Purse (*Qi*, Herba Agrimoniae*), Arisaema Tuber (*Maocao*, Rhizoma Arisaematis*), Angelica Dahurica Root (*Baizhi*, Radix Angelicae Dahuricae*) (one tael), Saposhnikovia Root (*Fangfeng*, Radix Saposhnikoviae*) (remove forked roots, three taels), Dung Beetle (*Qianglang*, Scarabaeus), Horse Fat (*Ma Zhi*), Bear Fat (*Xiong Zhi*).

Preparation: Boil the above ingredients in ten dou of water to obtain eight sheng.

**Taopi Ointment** (from *Shengji Zonglu*), treats White Baldness with hair loss.
Ingredients: Peach Bark [*Taopi*] (remove coarse black part, one tael, chop, stir-fry, grind; boil in ten dou of water to extract five sheng of juice, filter; drink half cup warm first, use remainder to wash hair), Fermented Soybean Paste [*Chi*] (half...).
Effect: Treats bald sores.

**Huangshukui Flower Powder**
Ingredients: Yellow Hibiscus Flower (*Huang Shukui Hua*, Flos Abelmoschi Manihot*), Rhubarb (*Dahuang*, Radix et Rhizoma Rhei*), Scutellaria Root (*Huangqin*, Radix Scutellariae*).
Preparation: Grind into fine powder. Mix with good clear sesame oil and apply.

**Formula for Baldness**
Ingredients: Willow Thin Branches (*Liu Xi Zhi*, Ramulus Salicis*) (one handful, take bark), Mercury (*Shuiyin*, Hydrargyrum*) (size of three beans), Soap Pod (*Zaojia*, Fructus Gleditsiae Sinensis*) (one stick, crushed).
Preparation: Decoct with vinegar until thick like syrup, then apply.

**Shuiyin Ointment** (from *Shenghui Fang*), treats persistent White Baldness sores.
Ingredients: Mercury (*Shuiyin*, Hydrargyrum*) (one tael), Coptis Rhizome (*Huanglian*, Rhizoma Coptidis*) (two taels, remove whiskers), Fine Ink Stick (*Xi Mo*, Atramentum*).
Preparation: First pound Huanglian and ink into a powder. Use lard without added water. Grind together with mercury until the ink color disperses completely. Apply to the sore. Miraculous effect.

**Wuyang Ointment** (from *Zhizhi Fang*), treats White Baldness sores on the head, as well as malignant sores.
Ingredients: Pig Feces (*Zhu Fen*, Stercus Porci*) (collected in December, burned to ash, half tael), Areca Nut (*Binglang*, Semen Arecae*), Realgar (*Xionghuang*, Auripigmentum*) (one qian).
Preparation: Grind into powder. First mix with sesame oil and duck egg white... lift off.

**Hair Loss Medicine**
Ingredients: Chinaberry Seeds (*Lianshu Zi*, Fructus Meliae Toosendan*), Alum (*Fanshi*, Alumen*) (each half tael, refined over fire).
Preparation: Grind into fine powder. Rub onto the sore.

**Formula for Treating White Baldness** (from *Shenghui Fang*)
Ingredients: Black Soybeans (*Heidou*, Semen Sojae Nigrum*) (one he, stir-fried until slightly yellow), Dry Peach Blossoms (*Gan Taohua*, Flos Persicae*) (one tael).
Preparation: Grind into powder. Mix with lard collected in December and apply to the sore. Wrap with cloth, avoiding exposure to wind.

**Formula for Treating Thorn-Like Head White Sores**
Ingredients: Pig Marrow Bone (*Zhu Tong Gu Dai Sui*, Os Suillae cum Medulla*), Lithospermum Root (*Zicao*, Radix Arnebiae seu Lithospermi*).
Preparation: Decoct in sesame oil until charred, remove herbs. Add Alum and Calomel. Rub onto the sore; hair will grow.

**Formula for Treating White Baldness Sores**
Ingredients: Salt-Wrapped Lotus Leaf (*Guo Yan He Ye*, Folium Nelumbinis*), Vine Husk (*Teng Rang*, Cortices Vitis*).
Preparation: Chop finely, decoct in water to make a concentrated liquid. Wash three to five times for cure.

**Formula for Bald Crown** (from *Qianjin Fang*)
Usage: Grind turnip seeds into powder, mix with vinegar and apply. Three times daily.

**Another Formula** (from *Qianjin Fang*)
Usage: Fry three sheng of hemp seeds until charred, grind into powder. Mix with lard and apply until hair grows.

**Formula for Alopecia Without Hair** (from *Qianjin Fang*)
Usage: Take two sheng of black mulberries, place in a jar, sun-dry for twenty-one days until liquefied. Use to wash the sore. Apply for twenty-one days; hair will grow. Miraculous effect.

**Formula for Treating White Baldness** (from *Zhouhou Fang*)
Usage: Take fresh mutton jerky, roast until fragrant and hot. Quickly apply to the head. No more than three or four times. Do not scratch if it itches. Beef is also acceptable.

**Another Formula** (from *Zhouhou Fang*) for White Baldness
Usage: Take a newly opened pig stomach, remove feces. While hot, quickly apply to the head. Parasites will emerge and the condition will heal. If not fully expelled, repeat until no parasites remain. Do not scratch if it itches.

**Another Formula** (from *Zhouhou Fang*)
Usage: Wash cleanly with soap pod decoction, dry, then apply aged oil residue. Three times daily. Sesame oil is also acceptable.

**Another Formula**
Usage: Drink the decoction of peach bark and use it to wash the head. (*Waitai Miyao* suggests mixing with fermented soybean paste for application). One formula uses flower powder mixed with lard to seal the area.

Usage: Grind earthworms (*Di Long*, Lumbricus*) into fine powder. Add Calomel and sesame oil, mix and apply.

**Formula for White Bald Head**
Usage: Mix sesame oil with Calomel and smear.

**Another Formula**
Usage: Take half cup of male pig bile, add legal vinegar. Apply using a chicken feather.

**Lilu Powder** treats Bald Sores.
Ingredients: Cyathula Root (*Guanzhong*, Radix Cyathulae*), Veratrum Rhizome (*Lilu*, Rhizoma Veratri*), Rhaponticum Root (*Loulu*, Radix Rhapontici*).
Preparation: Grind into fine powder. Clean the sore first, apply dry powder to the sore, let dry.

**Another Formula**
Usage: Grind Veratrum into powder, mix with lard collected in December and apply. Also, burn Rhaponticum grass collected in May into ash, mix with lard and apply. First wash with salt water, then apply.

Usage: Burn chinabark (*Kulian Pi*, Cortex Meliae*) to ash, mix with lard and apply.

**Formula for Leprous Head, Hot Red Ring Sores**
Usage: Equal parts of fresh mugwort (*Sheng Ai Ye*, Folium Artemisiae Argyi*), Angelica Dahurica Root (*Baizhi*, Radix Angelicae Dahuricae*), Betel Nut Shell (*Dafupi*, Pericarpium Arecae*), green onions with roots (*Lian Gen Cong*, Bulbus Allii Cepae*). Decoct in water, wash and wipe. Crush fresh indigo leaves with some fresh mugwort, mix with honey water...

**Formula for Head Baldness**
Usage: Equal parts of Trogopterorus Faeces (*Wulingzhi*, Copra Trogopterori*), Alum (*Fanshi*, Alumen*), Angelica Dahurica Root (*Baizhi*, Radix Angelicae Dahuricae*), Indigo Naturalis (*Qingdai*, Indigo Naturalis*), High-quality Aconite Root (*Haowu*, Radix Aconiti Lateralis*). Grind into powder, mix with sesame oil and apply.

**Jue Xiao Powder** treats itchy head sores due to wind.

**Xixin Ointment** (also known as Baixie Ointment) treats head sores with parasites, transforming into White Baldness.
Therapy for White Baldness:
Usage: Take the single root of *Yangti* (Radix Sanguisorbae), grind with three-year-old vinegar into a paste. Avoid wind, sun, women, chickens, and dogs. Wipe the sore with raw cloth until red, then apply.

**Method for Treating Bald Sores**
Ingredients: Coptis Rhizome (*Huanglian*, Rhizoma Coptidis*), Costus Root (*Muxiang*, Radix Aucklandiae*), Stemona Root (*Baibu*, Radix Stemonae*) (each one tael), Sichuan Pepper (*Nanjiao*, Fructus Schisandrae/Sichuan Pepper*), Musk (*Shexiang*, Moschus*), Calomel (*Qingfen*, Calomelas*) (ten pieces).

Preparation: Grind all into fine powder. Mix with raw sesame oil and apply to sores.

Usage: Burn elephant meat to ash, mix with oil and apply.

Usage: Decoct purslane (*Maxiancai*, Herba Portulacae Oleraceae*) into ointment and apply. Burning to ash and applying is also good.

Usage: Use *Qiuye* (Folium Catalpae*) in any amount, crush and extract juice to apply.

**Treatment for Head Sores and White Baldness, Expelling Parasites and Treating Swelling** (from *Bencao*)
Usage: Grind arisaema (*Maocao*, Rhizoma Arisaematis*), white bindweed (*Bailian*, Radix Polygoni Multiflori*), and adzuki beans (*Chixiaodou*, Semen Phaseoli Angularis*) into powder. Mix with egg white to a paste consistency. Apply to sores and swelling. Change when dry.

**Treatment for Head Sores and White Baldness** (from *Bencao*)
Usage: Take grass from chicken nests, mix with *Baitouweng* (Radix Pulsatillae*) grass, burn to ash, mix with lard and apply.
