Jisheng Bacui states: The so-called "Eight Li Pulses" (Eight Interior Pulses) refer to the pulse conditions of the three positions (Cun, Guan, Chi) on the right hand that have been affected by pathogenic factors. This is a phenomenon where Yang overcomes Yin. The pulse qualities manifest as Micro (Wei), Deep (Chen), Slow/Relaxed (Huan), Choppy (Se), Delayed (Chi), Hidden (Fu), Soft/Soggy (Ru), and Weak (Ruo).
If the patient experiences aversion to cold, this indicates the exterior aspect of the interior disease. One should administer Mahuang Fuzi Xixin Tang (Ephedra, Prepared Aconite Root, and Asarum Decoction) to induce sweating gradually. This is a method of inducing sweat by soaking the body form. If the patient does not experience aversion to wind or cold, but instead presents with a deep, fine, rapid, and frequent pulse, this indicates that the Foot Shaoyin Meridian has been counter-affected by Fire Pathogen. This is a disease in the deepest aspect of the interior, belonging to Yin within Yin, yet caused by a Yang pathogen. This exogenous pathogen should be urgently purged using Dachengqi Tang (Major Order the Qi Decoction).
Regarding Zhang Zhongjing's teachings: If a Guizhi Pulse (associated with Wind Strike syndrome) presents with Mahall Zheng (Mahuang Syndrome symptoms), or if a Mahuang Pulse presents with Guizhi Zheng (Guizhi Syndrome symptoms), one may alternately use Mahuang Guizhi Banxia Tang (Half-and-Half Ephedra and Cinnamon Twig Decoction). If the Guizhi Syndrome accounts for two parts and the Mahuang Syndrome accounts for one part, the method of Guizhi Er Mahuang Yi Tang (Two Parts Cinnamon Twig, One Part Ephedra Decoction) should be employed. Conversely, if the Mahuang Syndrome accounts for two parts and the Guizhi Syndrome accounts for one part, the method of Mahuang Er Guizhi Yi Tang (Two Parts Ephedra, One Part Cinnamon Twig Decoction) should be used. Or, if it is a Mahuang Pulse with Guizhi Syndrome, prioritizing the pulse: if the pulse condition accounts for two parts and the symptomatic condition for one part, treat with Mahuang Er Guizhi Yi Tang. Or if the Gui Pulse accounts for two parts and the symptomatic condition for one part... [Text fragment]
If both interior and exterior are Yin, use gentle sweating. For Seven Biao Pulses (Seven Exterior Pulses) with sweating, this is Exterior Yang and Interior Yin, requiring urgent sweating. For Eight Li with downward indications, this is Interior Yang and Exterior Yin, requiring urgent purgation. Therefore, the *Suwen* established the theory of Biao-Biao transformation and the method of Si Zhi (Four Regulations) to explain these situations.
Yunqizi states: The Eight Li Pulses refer to the pulses received in the three positions (Cun, Guan, Chi) of the right hand. These eight interior pulses are pulses of exogenous pathogens. The main position pulses are divided into three sections. A Micro (Wei) pulse belongs to Yin, indicating unceasing failure of blood, lusterless complexion. The Micro pulse resembles the pulse of autumn and winter; in the Yin aspect, it appears desolate. Excess Yin and insufficient Yang lead to blood deficiency. Formula: Xiangfu Zi (Cyperi Rhizoma, 1.5 liang), Baishaoyao (Paeoniae Radix Alba, 1 liang each), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, 1 liang each), Xiong (Chuanxiong Rhizoma, 0.5 liang). Grind these into coarse powder. Decoct 1 liang of herbs in water. Take before meals.
[Symptom description]: Under the fingers, it feels as if present yet absent, like stagnant failed blood in a vortex, with small intestine deficiency. Long-term metrorrhagia turns into leukorrhea; long-term pain causes bone marrow depletion. This is excess Kidney Qi and insufficiency of Mingmen (Gate of Life). One should tonify Mingmen. Mingmen stores essence in men and connects to the uterus in women. Metrorrhagia and leukorrhea indicate Mingmen failure. Bones are depleted; treat with Fulonggan San (Dragon's House Dust Powder). This is because blood cannot hold, and Water overcomes Fire. To treat women with loss of blood and essence, nourish blood and tonify deficiency with Danggui Shaoyao Tang (Angelica and Peony Decoction).
Herbs: Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Baishaoyao (Paeoniae Radix Alba), Shudihuang (Rehmanniae Radix Preparata) (1 liang each), Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma, 0.5 liang). Cut these herbs. Decoct 1 liang in water. Take before meals.

Searching for the pulse reveals a state similar to Delayed (Chi). Qi generated in Kidney area causes tinnitus. Evil wind and accumulated Qi rush to the back; three needles behind the head shift the pain.
Taiyang Wind Strike, pulse is Huan, neck and nape stiff and unable to turn. Needle Fengchi (GB20), Fengfu (DU16), Fu Bai (BL8) points to shift pain. Use Guizhi Tang (Cinnamon Twig Decoction) as main treatment.
