Huangdan (Calamine, *Lithargyri Oxidum*, two jin of the finest grade sifted through a fine sieve) Moyao (Myrrh, *Myrrha*, ground into powder) Nan Ruxiang (Southern Frankincense, *Boswelliae Carterii Resina*, ground into powder) Bailian (White Peony Root, *Paeoniae Radix Alba*, raw) Muguezi (Chinese Hog Plum Seed, *Strychni Semen*, used whole) Baiji (Bletilla Rhizome, *Bletillae Rhizoma*, raw)
Baizhi (Angelica Dahurica Root, *Angelicae Dahuricae Radix*, raw) Guizhi (Cinnamon Twig, *Cinnamomi Ramulus*, raw, each one liang, approximately three cun in length) Xinliuzhi (Fresh Willow Twig, *Salicis Ramulus*, one jin, thickness similar to an arrowhead). Except for Huangdan, Ruxiang, and Moyao, place the remaining medicinal materials in five jin of high-quality Sesame Oil (*Sesami Oleum*) and soak overnight, then remove. Using charcoal fire, boil in an iron pot until the medicinal materials turn yellow. Filter out the dregs. Next, add Huangdan into the pot. Use a fresh willow twig, four cun long and as thick as a small coin, to stir until the Huangdan turns brown. Remove from heat, and continue stirring with the willow twig to exhaust all smoke fumes. Add Moyao and Ruxiang into the mixture, and stir evenly with the willow twig. After the medicine cools, pour it into a porcelain basin and let it stand. Wait for the medicine to harden, then take it out with a knife, cut it into blocks, wrap them in oil paper, and they are ready for use. The preparation is best done in the third month of spring or the eighth month of autumn.
Shenxian Taiyi Gao (Immortal Great One Plaster): Treats various types of carbuncles and sores, as well as all malignant ulcers and soft boils. Regardless of how long the condition has persisted, whether pus has formed or not, it is suitable for external application. For snake bites, tiger scratches, scorpion stings, dog bites, scalds, burns, and injuries from knives or axes, it can be taken internally and applied externally. If treating a back carbuncle (Fabei), first wash the wound clean with warm water, dry it with a soft cloth, then spread the plaster on crimson silk and apply it to the sore. If taken internally, swallow with cold water; if qi and blood circulation is blocked, swallow with warm wine; for leukorrhea (red and white discharge), swallow with Danggui Wine (Angelica Sinensis Wine). For cough, throat obstruction, and wind-entangling throat conditions, wrap the plaster in new cotton wool and hold it in the mouth to dissolve. For all types of wind-heat red eyes, roll the plaster into small pills and apply them to the Taiyang acupoint. If subsequent internal administration is needed, swallow with Gardenia Soup (Gardeniae Fructus Decoction). For traumatic injuries from falls or blows, apply externally and take internally, swallowing with Tangerine Peel Soup (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Decoction). For waist and knee diseases, apply the plaster to the affected area.
