[Name] Duyao Cao (Swaying Grass).
[Seedling] (Note from *Xinxiu Bencao*): The seedling has a single stem with leaves growing at the apex, resembling an umbrella. The root resembles *Achyranthes bidentata* (Niuxi) but is finer and blacker. Currently, people substitute it with *Cynanchum wilfordii* (Xuchangqing), which is incorrect. (*Shuben Yaowu* states): *Cynanchum wilfordii* belongs to the category of *Acanthopanax sessiliflorus* (Chijian) and is also called Guidouyou, but its therapeutic indications differ; one should carefully distinguish and use them. Furthermore, *Tujing* states: The stem resembles a thin arrow shaft, under two chi in height; leaves grow at the stem's apex, shaped like an umbrella cover; the root grows horizontally without fibrous roots; flowers and leaf centers are yellowish-white.
