[Preparation] Collected in the twelfth lunar month, dried in the wind for use; fresh ones possess superior potency.

Those from Fujian have meat without fat and are inedible.
[Harm] Human hair ash enters the Blood level and has dispersing properties. Its use in treating various bleeding disorders relies on the principle that "blood stops when exposed to charcoal," which addresses symptoms rather than the root. Relying on it for tonification is unlikely to be effective. After being calcined into powder, its odor is unpleasant; those with weak Stomach Qi should not take it.
[Benefit] Bitter, warm, and neutral; enters the Liver and Kidney meridians; simultaneously tonifies Yin and resolves stasis; removes blood stasis from the heart orifices.
