Blood of the wild goat (Shanyang Xue, 山羊血), salty in flavor and cold in nature. Enters the Lung (Fei, 肺) and Heart (Xin, 心) viscera. It specializes in resolving fixed blood (Si Xue, 死血); therefore, it can rescue those in a state of apparent death due to the "Five Extinctions" (Wu Jue, 五绝). Generally, only one fen (a traditional unit of weight) is needed. Dissolve it in wine, use a scallion tube to blow air into the patient's mouth, have them hold the medicated wine, and guide it down the throat using the patient's breath. Within a short while, they will revive. If wild goat blood is unavailable, grind one fen of wild goat horn (Shanyang Jiao, 山羊角), mix it with wine, and administer it in the same manner as described above; revival is also possible. However, the goat must be four-eyed to be authentic; this is truly an immortal elixir for saving lives. Otherwise, its efficacy is halved.
Some may doubt: since wild goat blood belongs to the sheep/goat category, why does it possess such miraculous effects? The four-eyed wild goat is a divine beast, extremely rare in the world. Using it to save the seemingly dead can indeed restore life. Wild goats from the Liangguang region are not four-eyed, yet they still benefit the world, though their efficacy is not as miraculous as that of the four-eyed variety. I once obtained a goat at the residence of Envoy Chen in Guacang, which was indeed four-eyed. At that time, unaware of the value of its blood, I took its horns instead. They remain in my home today, distinct from ordinary goat horns. Grinding these horns for medical use yields truly miraculous results. I record this to demonstrate that four-eyed wild goats do exist.
Donkey urine (Lü Niao, 驴溺), pungent in flavor and cold in nature, possesses slight toxicity. It enters the Spleen (Pi, 脾), Stomach (Wei, 胃), and Large Intestine (Dachang, 大肠) meridians. It specializes in killing parasites and can treat regurgitation (Fan Wei, 反胃). However, only urine from a black donkey is suitable for medicinal use; otherwise, it is unfit for prescription. Regurgitation is a disease of the Kidney (Shen, 肾) meridian. Since donkey urine is not a kidney-tonifying agent, how can it stop regurgitation? One must understand that symptoms of regurgitation vary. In cases where damp-heat (Shi Re, 湿热) stagnates between the Spleen and Stomach, causing vomiting upwards without diarrhea downwards, prolonged stagnation generates parasites. Pain is alleviated slightly after eating but becomes severe when fasting, leading to violent vomiting. This type of regurgitation is not merely a Kidney meridian issue. Donkey urine must be used to guide the pathogenic factors downward; thus, the parasites are transformed into water and excreted through the Large Intestine, thereby safely stopping the vomiting. Once regurgitation is stabilized, Liuwei Dihuang Tang (Six-Ingredient Pill with Rehmannia, 六味地黄汤) should still be used for conditioning to ensure complete recovery. Otherwise, if Kidney Qi is severely deficient and cannot moisten the intestines to facilitate downward transmission, and the Large Intestine is narrow and difficult to transport, food and fluids remain in the Spleen. Damp-heat accumulates again, generating new parasites. How could such regurgitation ever heal?
