Used after stir-frying, it is also known as rabbit feces.
It removes eye nebula (cataracts or corneal opacity) and detoxifies, treats consumptive disease (tuberculosis or chronic wasting diseases), and kills parasites. It is particularly effective in treating hemorrhoids and especially gan sores (ulcers associated with childhood malnutrition).
For diarrhea caused by the five types of gan syndrome, stir-fry half a liang of the herb, combine with one dried toad, burn to ash, grind into powder, wrap in cotton, and insert into the lower orifice (anus or vagina), changing three times daily. (Verified Formula 1.)
Mingyue Dan (Bright Moon Pill): Rabbit feces (49 grains), Sha (mineral substance, amount equal to rabbit feces).
Pill size: like beans. Before the full moon (15th day of the lunar month), soak licorice root (Gancao) in water overnight. At dawn (wugeng), extract the juice and swallow seven pills. If parasites are expelled, immediately fry them in oil to kill them.
Treats consumptive disease, expels parasites, or addresses symptoms such as limbs feeling like burning, alternating chills and fever, and restlessness. (General Formulas 1.)

Treats ulceration from rat bites: Stir-fry one rat in lard until completely melted, add a clump of human hair until dissolved. Apply half externally to the wound, and take the other half orally with wine. This is a secret miraculous formula. (Verified Formula 1.)
Eliminates various scars: Stir-fry one rat in winter lard (lard from the twelfth lunar month) until completely melted. Apply frequently every day for excellent results. (Formula 2.)
Treats ulcers that fail to heal: Burn to ash and apply topically. (Formula 3.)
Treats bone splinters from snakes penetrating the skin: Same method as above. (Formula 4.)
Treats hu jia (abdominal mass resembling pregnancy) with mental confusion: Take one rat, seal with mud, burn over mulberry wood until charred, mix with three qian of cinnamon heart powder (Guixin), and take three qian orally with wine each time. (Formula 5.)
To attract affection and favor: On the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, seventh day of the seventh lunar month, and first day of the first lunar month, at zishi hour (11 PM–1 AM), take one male rat, scrape its external kidneys (testicles) facing north, dry in shade, and carry in a pouch. Men wear it on the left, women on the right. People will feel joy upon seeing it, and wishes will be fulfilled. (Formula 6.)
Treats dry eyes and excessive sleepiness: Take one rat eye, burn and grind into powder, mix with fish fat for eye drops. Also, carry two rat eyes in a crimson silk pouch. (Formula 7.)
Treats Qingmang blindness (optic atrophy or blindness): Use rat bile mixed with carp bile for eye drops. (Formula 8.)
The ones with pointed ends at both sides are authentic; use after stir-frying.
Sweet flavor, slightly cold nature, slightly toxic.
Expels dead fetus and regulates menstruation, applies topically to treat scrofula (cervical lymphadenitis) and soothe mastitis, treats relapse due to overexertion and yin yi (recrudescence of febrile disease after sexual intercourse post-recovery), applies to fractures to reduce swelling and treat dog bites.
For amenorrhea in unmarried women: Use one liang, stir-fry and grind into powder, take one qian orally with wine each time. (Verified Formula 1.)
For early-stage mastitis: Same method as above; sweating may occur after ingestion. (Formula 2.)
For pediatric salt hemorrhoids (anal fissure/hemorrhage): Same method as above; sweating may occur after ingestion. (Formula 3.)
For traumatic blood stasis: Stir-fry and grind into powder, mix with animal fat for topical application. (Formula 4.)
For painful snake bone splinters difficult to treat: Burn a dead rat to ash, grind, and apply topically. (Formula 5.)
