Calcined to a solid state, then ground into powder for use. *Fritillariae Bulbus* (Beimu) serves as the guiding herb; it works well when combined with *Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma* (Gancao), *Polygalae Radix* (Yuanzhi), and *Cnidii Fructus* (Shechuangzi). It is incompatible with *Ephedrae Herba* (Mahuang), *Xanthocerii Fructus* (Xinyi), and *Evodiae Fructus* (Wuzhuyu).

Salty, astringent, slightly cold, non-toxic. Enters the Hand-Shaoyin Heart Meridian and Foot-Shaoyin Kidney Meridian. It has the effects of astringing the intestines and consolidating deficiency, softening hardness and dissipating nodules, resolving phlegm and generating fluids, arresting sweating and coughing, dispelling dampness and relieving thirst. It treats enuresis and seminal emission (slippage syndromes), eliminates goiter (thyroid enlargement) and scrofula/tubercles (lymph node tuberculosis or subcutaneous nodules). It descends Gallbladder Qi to eliminate epigastric fullness/stagnation, and astringes the Heart Spirit to calm palpitations and fright. It clears deficiency heat and vexation from consumptive diseases, and reduces the chills and fever of warm malaria. It treats prolapse due to metrorrhagia (heavy uterine bleeding), dysentery, and leukorrhea; and knots caused by hernia, zheng-jia masses (abdominal lumps), and accumulations.

For scrofula in men and women: Use three taels of *Ostrea Concha* (Muli) and four taels of *Scrophulariae Radix* (Xuanshen), process into pills the size of beans, take thirty pills per dose with wine. Additionally, apply the pills externally. Another prescription: Regardless of whether the scrofula has ulcerated or not, use one tael of *Ostrea Concha* (Muli) and four taels of *Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma* (Gancao), grind into powder, take one qian per dose. This is extremely effective. (Verified Formula No. 1.)

For paronychia (nail bed infection) with ulceration and pain: Take two qian of powder per dose, administer with safflower wine, and continue external application. (No. 2.)

For traumatic wounds that fail to heal: External application yields excellent results. (No. 3.)

For carbuncles/swellings not yet suppurated: Mix powder with water for external application; reapply when dry. (No. 4.)

For edema accompanied by cysts: Use three taels of *Ostrea Concha* (Muli) and one tael of processed *Zingiberis Rhizoma* (Paojiang), grind into powder, mix with water for external application; reapply when dry. Another method: Mix with green onion juice and flour for external application. (No. 5.)

For continuous menstrual bleeding: Use several taels of *Ostrea Concha* (Muli), mix *Artemisiae Argyi Folium* (Aiye) powder with vinegar, boil into an ointment/paste, and form into pills for oral administration. (No. 6.)

For night sweats: Topical application is beneficial. (No. 7.)

For persistent malaria: Combine with *Eucommiae Cortex* (Duzhong), make honey pills, and take with decoction. (No. 8.)

For Qi deficiency: Same usage as above. (No. 9.)

For dark complexion: Make honey pills and take them; also regularly consume its meat. (No. 10.)

For traumatic bleeding: Apply externally. (No. 11.)

Guizhi Guli Tang (Cinnamon Twig and Bone-Oyster Decoction): The original Guizhi Tang formula plus *Longgu* (Dragon Bone) and *Muli* (Oyster Shell).
Treats seminal emission due to consumptive disease, with a floating and empty pulse. (First among various formulas.)

Chaihu Guli Tang (Bupleurum and Bone-Oyster Decoction): *Pinelliae Rhizoma Preparatum* (Banxia), *Panax Ginseng Radix* (Renshen), *Cinnamomi Ramulus* (Guizhi), *Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens* (Jiang), *Jujubae Fructus* (Zao), *Poria* (Fuling), *Mineralium Cinnabaricum* (Huandan), *Longgu* (Dragon Bone), *Ostrea Concha* Powder (Lifen).
Treats chest fullness, mania/fright, difficulty urinating, heaviness of the body, and delirious speech. (No. 2.)
