It grows abundantly in mountainous areas, with green and square stems. There are purple linear patterns on the stems. The leaves resemble those of *Bistorta officinalis* var. *chinensis* (Ziding Longya), with fine white hairs on the surface. Small yellow flowers bloom in July, and the fruits resemble a broom (Xianzhou), capable of pricking human hands; hence it is also known as Qiantiao Zhen (Thousand-Needle).
*Baicao Jing* records: Flowers bloom in clusters during the Mangzhong solar term.
*Zhongfutang Fang* records: Tiexianzhou is equivalent to Shijianchuan (*Prunella vulgaris*). In *Bencao Gangmu*, Malizi is also named Tiexianzhou; its leaves resemble those of *Allium macrostemon* (Xie), and its roots look like a brush, which is completely different from the Tiexianzhou described here.
*Cao Bao* records: The leaves of Tiexianzhou resemble those of *Bistorta officinalis* var. *chinensis* (Ziding Longya), but without hairs. It blooms small yellow flowers in July, and the fruits resemble a broom. It is named so because it can prick human hands.
For treating Huangdan (Jaundice), use this herb. Take one liang (approx. 37g) of the dried herb, decoct with Baijiu (white liquor), and take orally. Recovery occurs after four to five doses.
It is effective for treating Fengbi (Wind-Bi syndrome/Arthralgia), Bengxue (Metrorrhagia/Metrorrhaxis), Huangdan (Jaundice), Tuxue (Hematemesis), Diepu (Falls and bruises), and Guijianfeng (Guijian Wind). For external application to treat Jianyong (Shoulder abscess) and Hexikfeng (Swollen knee joint deformity): Use fresh herbs including roots and leaves. If the roots are old in autumn and winter, extract leaf juice, mix with Feimian (sifted flour), apply as a poultice. Decocting the herb for bathing sores and scabies leads to immediate cure.
It treats Fengbi, Hexikfeng, and other wind-related syndromes.
*Mao Kunlai Xiaofang* records: Three liang of Tiexianzhou and half a jin (approx. 250g) of Longyanrou (Longan aril), decocted with wine for drinking.

Falls and Bruises: Jin Jushi's *Xuanyao Fang* records: Use three liang of Tiexianzhou, decocted with wine and taken orally.
Gezheng (Dysphagia/Chest Diaphragm Syndrome): Jiang Yunshan's transmitted prescription records: Shi Dachuancao (Herb of *Prunella vulgaris*), collect one head of grass per month (e.g., three heads in March, four in April, based on the month number). Crush to extract juice, mix with human milk and goat milk, and take orally for immediate effect.
Facial Freckles/Pigmentation: Zhu Hezi's prescription records: Collect naturally fallen leaves and seeds of Tiexianzhou from the ground, decoct, clarify the liquid, and wash the face three to four times; the spots will naturally fade.
Hexikfeng (Swollen Knee Joint Deformity): *Zhongfutang Fang* records: Use Shi Jianchuancao (Herb of *Prunella vulgaris*); select those with red roots and stems for best results. Use the whole branch. If roots and stems are old in autumn/winter, use only half a fen (approx. 0.37g) of leaves. All materials must be freshly picked on the day of use; do not use overnight leftovers.
