In folk practice, women often prepare "Jizi Jian" (Chicken Egg Decoction) for children. They boil chicken feathers and eggs together, simmering for a long time to extract the juice, which is then administered to children to resolve phlegm-heat and treat various ailments. The section on Chicken Eggs also states: it treats fire burns. Therefore, its use yields miraculous effects.
[Attached Prescriptions] Three old prescriptions, eleven new prescriptions.

Ear Gland Discharge: Fry chicken egg yolk into oil and apply. Very excellent. (Tan Yeweng's Formula)
Hatched Eggshells: Li Shizhen says: Commonly known as Hun Dun Chi (Chaotic Pool) or Feng Huang Tui (Phoenix Shedding). Using hatched shells implies the meaning of shedding/transformation. Li Shi's Xu Bowu Zhi states: Stepping on eggshells can cause Vitiligo.
[Main Indications] Powdered, used to grind away corneal opacities (Riyuan) (Riyuan Bencao). For Taiyang disease relapse due to labor, calcine until yellow-black, powder, and take one He mixed with hot water; sweating indicates cure (Su Song, from Shen Shi Fang). Calcined to ash, mixed with oil, applied to tinea and various sores on children's heads and bodies. Two Qian taken with wine treats Fanwei (Regurgitation/Vomiting) (Li Shizhen).
[Attached Prescriptions] Two old prescriptions, seven new prescriptions.

Severe Pox Syndrome: Pox involution inward, toxic qi stagnating internally, leading to hematochezia and coma. Use hatched chicken eggshells (remove membrane), roast on new tile, and powder. Take half a Qian each time, mixed with hot water. For infants, mix with wine, smear on lips and tongue, and apply to Fengchi acupoint, chest, and back. Miraculous effect.
Inner Membrane of Eggshell
[Main Indications] Chronic cough with Qi stagnation; combined with Mahuang (Ephedra Herba) and Ziwan (Aster Root), immediate effect. (Mingyi Bielu)
[Explanation/Discovery] Li Shizhen says: According to Xianchuan Waikie, someone accidentally held a knife in their mouth and cut their tongue, leaving it hanging but not severed. A practitioner used the inner membrane of a chicken egg to wrap the tongue, sprinkling hemostatic medicine at the root. After bleeding stopped, Chonghe Gao (Harmonizing Paste) made from melted beeswax and honey was applied over the egg membrane. After three days, reattachment occurred, then the membrane was removed, and only frequent application of beeswax/honey continued for seven days for full recovery. If no rapid effect, Jinqiang medicine (for open wounds) should be added. The use of egg inner membrane here is solely due to its softness and thinness, protecting the tongue and allowing drug penetration.
[Attached Prescriptions] Two new prescriptions.
Chronic Cough: Fourteen chicken egg inner membranes (stir-fried), three Liang of Mahuang (roasted), powdered. Take one Fangcunbi each time, taken after meals with water, twice daily. (Bi Xiao Fang)
Wind-Eye Swelling and Pain: Chicken egg inner membrane, Gouqi Baipi (Wolfberry Bark), equal parts powdered. Blown into nose, three times daily. (Shengji Zonglu)
Jibai Du Feizhi (White Worm Fat of Chicken) (Benjing)
Hongjing says: Do not know what this is? Probably another substance. Cangqi says: Now chickens also have Bai Tai (white platforms/nodules), hard like an egg, white without yolk, said to be laid by roosters, named Fu Gong Tai. The character "Tai" resembles "Tuo", suspected transmission error. Ji says: This is Benjing text, listed under Black Female Chicken, likely referring to the fat of female chickens, plump and white like woodworms, named for similarity. Li Shizhen says: "Du" sounds like "Du", why did Cangqi think it was "Tuo"? Roosters laying eggs does happen occasionally, but should not have "fat" mentioned. Ji's interpretation is closer. Otherwise, it must be the oviduct of female chickens. Benjing has the name but lacks efficacy description, likely a lost manuscript fragment.
Grass in Nest
[Main Indications] Scalp Tinea Capitis (White Baldness), mixed with Baitouweng Cao (Pulsatilla Herb), calcined to ash, mixed with Pig Lard, applied. (Riyuan) Tian Si entering eye, calcined to ash, steeped in water for clear juice to wash, good effect. (Li Shizhen, from non-secret formula)

[Attached Prescriptions] One new prescription.
