Master Sun Suiliang, in the Renzi year of Shaoxi (1192 AD), after suffering from dysentery, experienced weakness in his legs, eventually developing "Crane Knee" (He Xi Feng, a condition characterized by swollen knees and wasted thighs/calves). His two knees became swollen and painful, while his thighs and calves withered like dried meat, leaving only skin and bone. He was constrained in bed, unable to bend or extend his limbs, requiring others to hold him up to rise. This state lasted for several months, rendering him almost disabled. Li Ershiyi, the nephew of Zhao Deyuan, Canyi of Huaidong, gifted him this prescription. After taking it, his Qi and blood flowed smoothly, muscles gradually regenerated, and he was able to walk normally. He recovered completely before finishing one dose; truly a miraculous prescription.
Prescription: Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix, remove rhizome), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Duzhong (Eucommiae Cortex, remove coarse bark, stir-fry until fibers break, weigh), Chuan Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, wash), Shu Dihuang (Rehmanniae Radix Preparata, wash), Baishaoyao (Paeoniae Radix Alba), Huangqi (Astragali Membranacei Radix, lightly stir-fry, weigh, each 2 liang), Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizomatis et Radicis), Niuxi (Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix, remove rhizome), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, stir-fried), Renshen (Ginseng Radix, remove rhizome, weigh, each 1 liang), Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Preparata, processed, remove skin and umbilicus), Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma, each 1.5 liang; note: avoid Xiongxiong from Fuzhou).
Grind the above herbs into coarse powder, mix evenly. Take 5 qian per dose, add 1.5 zhan of water, 7 slices of fresh ginger, and 1 jujube. Decoct together until reduced to 0.8 zhan. Strain and take warm before meals. Some say: decoct Sini Tang (Four Substances Decoction) and administer Six Jin Wan (Six-Jin Pill) with it. However, Sun Suiliang did not take Six Jin Wan after recovering. (From *Shizhai Ba Yi Xuan Fang*)
(Six Jin Pill is from the section on "Hongxiang Jiao" [Gouty Arthritis]. Crane Knee is a severe syndrome; this prescription is essential for its treatment. From *Waike Zhengzong* [Orthodox Manual of External Diseases])
Huoluo Liuqi Yin (Vitalizing Collaterals and Regulating Qi Decoction) treats Liuzhu masses (flowing deposits), which may be painful or painless, or accompanied by alternating chills and fever, also known as Liuzhu Wind.

Decoct in water, take after meals, adding half a zhan of wine. Apply Heihu Gao (Black Tiger Plaster) to the mass. (From *Yijing Huiyuan*)

Chop the above nine ingredients, boil in 9 sheng of water until 3 sheng remain. Strain and divide into three doses. (From *Qianjin Fang*)
Qianxing San (Secret Walking Powder) treats gout. Use only Huangbai (Phellodendri Cortex), soak in wine, bake dry, and grind into powder. Mix with fresh ginger juice and take with wine. It is excellent to alternate this with Sini Tang (Four Substances Decoction). (From Zhu Danxi)
Jiawei Sini Tang (Modified Four Substances Decoction) treats Baihu Li Jie Feng syndrome. Case: A woman over fifty suffered from spasmodic pain in her left knee, unable to bear weight. Symptoms were worse at night than during the day, with occasional lower abdominal pain. Pulse was floating, fine, slow, and weak, powerless upon pressure, especially in the Chi position. The disease was attributed to Blood deficiency. Prescribed Sini Tang (Four Substances Decoction) added with Niuxi (Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix), Honghua (Carthami Flos), Huangbai (Phellodendri Cortex), and Wuyao (Linderae Radix). After more than ten doses, she recovered. (From *Shishan Yian*)

Take before sleep with empty stomach/diaphragm, using warm wine. Mild cold sweat over the body indicates recovery. I obtained this formula; for Li Jie and unexplained pains, one or two doses bring relief. In Shichuan, a noblewoman suffered from wandering whole-body pain, worsening at night, feeling like insects biting her muscles, often treated as demonic possession. I said: "This is exactly Li Jie disease." Three doses cured her. (From *Benshi Fang*, named Juantong Wan in *Jisheng Fang*)
