[Method for Determining the Location of the Sihua Acupoints]
To treat bone-steaming consumption (Gu Zheng Lao Zhai, a chronic consumptive disease characterized by afternoon tidal fever, night sweats, and emaciation), if a person is treated with moxibustion according to this method at the onset of the disease, there will be no ineffective cases. However, many physicians fail to locate the true acupoints, leading to errors. Herein, the measurement method is detailed so that future practitioners may understand it clearly and avoid mistakes. Is this not a compassionate heart aimed at saving lives?
First, take a thin rope about three or four chi long, soak it in wax to prevent stretching or shrinking. Have the patient stand upright. Align one end of the rope with the big toe of the male's left foot or the female's right foot. Place the foot flat on the ground, extend the rope from the sole to the center of the heel, go straight up behind the calf紧贴 skin to the popliteal crease (knee joint flexure line), and cut the rope.
Next, have the patient untie their hair and part it to both sides to expose the midline suture of the scalp. From the fontanelle (anterior fontanelle) divide equally to the back of the head. Then, have the patient sit upright. Press one end of the previously cut rope against the tip of the nose, extend it upwards along the midline suture to the back of the head, let it hang down贴着 skin, and when it aligns with the spine, extend it downwards to the end of the coccyx. Mark this point with ink (this ink mark is not the moxa point).
Separately, take a stalk of rice straw. Have the patient close their mouth and place the straw horizontally across the mouth, extending to the corners of the lips. Then, lift the center of the straw up to the root of the nose, similar to measuring the Renzhong point, and cut it at the level of the two lip corners. Straighten this straw and place it on the previous ink mark on the spine. Take the middle transverse line, ensuring it is neither higher nor lower than the two ends of the straw, and mark it with ink. The center point is the moxa point, named "Huanmen" (Patient's Gate), consisting of two points. Initially moxa seven moxa-cones, cumulatively moxa up to one hundred cones for excellent results. Initially, only moxa these two points. Have the patient sit upright, slightly retract the arms, take a rope, wrap it around the neck forward, tie it level behind the laryngeal prominence (Adam's apple) to the Dazhu bone (BL11), marking both places with ink. Extend downwards; when the two hanging ends align with the Jiwei point (CV15), cut the rope.
Flip the rope backwards. Use the original point (laryngeal prominence mark) as the reference for the Dazhu mark, and the Dazhu mark as the reference for the laryngeal prominence mark. Where the two rope ends meet in the center of the bone, mark with ink (this is also not a moxa point). Take another rice straw, have the patient close their mouth without moving, measure horizontally aligned with the two lip corners, and cut. Return to the ink mark on the back, measure horizontally across the midline of the spine, and mark the two ends. This is the acupoint. Also measure vertically along the spine to mark points. These are the moxa points named "Sihua" (Four Flowers). Initially moxa seven cones, cumulatively up to one hundred cones. If the sores heal but the disease persists, re-locate the points according to the previous method. Hence, it is said to cumulatively moxa up to one hundred cones. All points are located on the spine. Caution: moxa sparingly. Only moxa three to five times per session; excessive moxa may cause kyphosis (hunchback). When moxa these six points, it is also advisable to moxa Zusanli (ST36) to drain fire qi, which is a brilliant method. For women with bound feet causing short stature, the initial measurement for Huanmen may be inaccurate. Instead, one can measure from Jianjing (GB21) on the right shoulder贴着 skin to the tip of the middle finger. Alternatively, simply moxa Gohuang (BL43); details of this point are recorded later. Moxa of Sihua is also effective. I have observed that treating patients with this method at the onset of the disease yields consistent results. However, if the disease root is deep-seated, adhering to this moxa method...

The upper two points are named "Huanmen", the lower four points are named "Sihua", hence called "Six Points of Sihua".

[Qizhumaxi Moxibustion Method for Treating Carbuncles and Ulcers]
Regardless of gender, this treats various types of back carbuncles, ulcers, and breast abscesses.
Make a ring from a bamboo slice, width two fen, place it on the sore, fill with medicine, and apply moxibustion.
First, starting from the transverse crease of the male's left wrist or female's right wrist, use a thin bamboo strip to measure past the fleshy end of the middle finger, excluding the nail bed, and cut.
Second, for the male's left or female's right middle finger, measure the distance between the two creases of the middle phalanx when flexed, cutting it to one cun. This uses the "same-body cun" method as the standard.
Have the patient remove upper and lower garments. Straddle a large bamboo pole. Two people slowly lift the patient so that the feet are about five cun off the ground. Two other people support the sides to ensure stability and prevent shaking. Use the previously measured long bamboo strip, hold it vertically against the bamboo pole, measure from the sacrococcygeal joint贴着 the spine to the end of the strip, and mark with a pen (this is not the moxa point). Then, use the bamboo strip used for measuring same-body cuns, take two cuns, place it horizontally, measure one cun transversely from the Zhongshu point (GV9) to each side. These are the correct points, suitable for moxa thirty-seven cones. These two points specifically treat carbuncles, malignant sores, back carbuncles, scrofula, and wind disorders; moxibustion brings immediate relief.
