Treats *Jie Xiong* (chest binding syndrome) caused by *Shang Han* (cold damage), characterized by hardness and severe pain in the epigastrium that is unbearable.
*Guan Zhong* (Cyrtomium Rhizome, Banlangen's relative) (half tael), *Xian Mao* (Curculigo Rhizome) (one fen), *Bi Bo* (Long Pepper Fruit) (one fen), *Fu Zi* (Aconite Lateral Root, processed, skin and navel removed), *Ba Dou* (Croton Seed, skin and oil removed), *Gan Jiang* (Dried Ginger, processed).
The above ingredients are ground into a fine powder. Dough paste made from boiled flour is used to form pills the size of sophora seeds. Take one pill per dose, delivered with a decoction of fresh ginger and jujube. For *Jie Xiong* persisting for five to seven days, take three pills.
Disperses cold pathogens. Treats headache, fever, and limb fatigue.
*Bai Zhu* (Atractylodes Macrocephala Rhizome) (two taels), *Jie Geng* (Platycodon Root) (one tael), *Ren Shen* (Ginseng Root, radix removed), *Dang Gui* (Angelica Sinensis Root, washed and dried), *Chen Ju Pi* (Aged Tangerine Peel, albedo removed), *Zhi Ke* (Bitter Orange Fruit, pulp removed, bran-fried, prepared with ginger juice).
The above ingredients are chopped. Take five qian per dose, add one and a half zhan of water, five slices of fresh ginger, and three cun of white part of scallion. Decoct together until one zhan remains, strain, and take hot. Time is not restricted.
Resolves and treats *Shang Han*. Treats headache, fever, whole-body stiffness and urgency, and pain in the four limbs.
*Jing Jie Sui* (Schizonepeta Flower Spike) (three taels), *Fang Feng* (Saposhnikovia Root, radix removed), *Ren Shen* (Ginseng Root, radix removed), *Huang Qin* (Scutellaria Root), *Ma Huang* (Ephedra Herba, roots and joints removed), *Rou Gui* (Cinnamon Bark, rough bark removed), *Cang Zhu* (Atractylodes Lancea Rhizome).
The above ingredients are chopped. Take five qian per dose, add one and a half zhan of water, three slices of fresh ginger, one jujube, and thirty grains of Dan Dou Chi (Fermented Soybean). Decoct together until one zhan remains, strain.
Treats epidemics occurring in all four seasons, with symptoms of headache, stiff neck, fever, aversion to cold, and body pain. Also treats wind-cold injury causing nasal congestion, heavy voice, cough, and dizziness.
*Cang Zhu* (Atractylodes Lancea Rhizome, five taels, soaked overnight in rice wash water), *Gao Ben* (Ligusticum Wallichii Rhizome, soil removed), *Xiang Bai Zhi* (Angelica Dahurica Root), *Qiang Huo* (Notopterygium Rhizome, radix removed), *Xi Xin* (Asarum Root, leaves and soil removed), *Gan Cao* (Licorice Root, honey-fried), *Chuan Xiong* (Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizome; the above six herbs are each one tael).
The above ingredients are ground into a fine powder. Take three qian per dose, add one zhan of water, three slices of fresh ginger, and three cun of white part of scallion. Decoct together until seventy percent remains, take warm. Time is not restricted.
Disperses wind pathogens and intercepts *Shang Han*.
*Cang Zhu* (Atractylodes Lancea Rhizome, four taels, soaked overnight in rice wash water), *Gan Cao* (Licorice Root, honey-fried), *Huang Qin* (Scutellaria Root), *Chi Shao Yao* (Red Peony Root; the above three herbs are each one tael), *Chi Fu Ling* (Red Poria, half tael, skin removed).
The above ingredients are ground into a fine powder. Take three qian per dose, add one and a half zhan of water, five slices of fresh ginger, and thirty black soybeans. Decoct together until one zhan remains, take hot. Time is not restricted.
