Treating infants with weak Stomach Qi, presenting with vomiting and diarrhea, lethargy, drowsiness, and unconsciousness.
Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma) (remove the rhizome head), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Dongguazi (Benincasae Semen), (each of these three herbs half tael), Tiannanxing (Arisaematis Rhizoma) (one tael, processed until cracked, placed in a pit in the ground to remove fire toxicity).
Crush the above ingredients. For each dose, take two qian, add seven parts of light fermented rice water, five seeds of Bai Biandou (Dolichos Lablab Seed), crushed, decoct together until one-third remains, filter out the dregs, and take warm before nursing or feeding.
Treating infants with chronic persistent diarrhea, as well as diarrhea complicated by food accumulation, abdominal distension due to malnutrition (Gan syndrome), and complete loss of appetite.
Dingfen (Lead Carbonate), Huangdan (Lead Oxide) (each half tael), Badou (Crotonis Fructus) (seven kernels, shelled, ground evenly with Dingfen and Huangdan [Gu Dan], mixed with water into a lump, dried in shade... Grind the above ingredients into fine powder, mix with cooked wheat flour paste to make pills the size of millet seeds. Take fifteen pills per dose, increasing to twenty pills, taken with a decoction of Mugua (Chaenomelis Fructus) and Chen Jupi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), on an empty stomach.
Treating infants with weak intestines and stomach, passing undigested food residue, or white mucus in stool, with uncontrolled diarrhea day and night.
Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata) (one piece, weighing six qian, processed, peel removed, navel and tip removed), Liuhuang (Sulfur) (separately ground), Rougui (Cinnamomi Cortex) (remove rough bark), Longgu (Fossilia Ossis Mastodi et Sacri) (separately ground), Hezi (Terminalia Chebula Retz. Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix), Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma) (remove rhizome head), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma), Roudoukou (Myristicae Semen) (wrapped in flour and baked until cooked), Baishao Yao (Paeoniae Radix Alba) (these six herbs in equal proportions).
Grind the above ingredients into fine powder, mix with cooked wheat flour paste to make pills the size of millet seeds. Take thirty pills per dose, taken with warm rice water, before nursing or feeding.
