心劳者，营血日亏，心烦神倦，口燥咽干，宜调补营卫，安养心神，宅中汤主之。

先生此方根据《难经》损其心者调其营卫，以参、 、神、志补心气，卫即是气，气能生神。以丹
参、柏仁、归、芍补心血，营即是血，血能养神。补气血不但是调营卫，亦且是安心神。莲子以安
脾，心脾为母子；天冬以滋肾，心肾在既济。用河车者，乃生人造命之原，有补先天元气之奇功也。

先生此方根据《难经》损其肺者益其气，以人参、麦冬、五味之生脉法，以阿胶、百合、天冬
之补肺阴，因气即是水，水能化气也。以糯米、茯苓和脾肺，以贝母、地骨、苡仁退虚热而止咳血
，肺润则气治，而金水相生矣。祖怡注。
Heart Labor refers to a condition where Ying Blood (nutritive blood) is gradually depleted, manifesting as mental restlessness, spiritual fatigue, dry mouth and throat. The appropriate treatment is to harmonize and tonify Ying and Wei (defensive) Qi, and to calm and nourish the Shen (spirit). The principal formula is Zhai Zhong Tang.

The author formulated this prescription based on the principle from *Nan Jing* (Classic of Difficult Issues): "For damage to the Heart, regulate its Ying and Wei." Ginseng, Astragalus, Poria with Pine Wood, and Polygala are used to tonify Heart Qi. Wei Qi belongs to Qi, and Qi can generate Shen. Salvia, Biota Seed, Angelica, and White Peony Root are used to tonify Heart Blood. Ying Blood belongs to Blood, and Blood can nourish Shen. Tonifying Qi and Blood not only harmonizes Ying and Wei but also calms the Shen. Lotus seed is used to stabilize Spleen Qi, as Heart and Spleen share a mother-son relationship; Asparagus root is used to nourish Kidney Yin, as Heart and Kidney exist in a state of mutual interaction (Ji Ji). Placenta Humana is used because it is the origin of human life creation, possessing unique efficacy in tonifying congenital Yuan Qi. Annotated by Zu Yi.
Lung Labor refers to a condition of severe deficiency of Lung Qi, manifesting as low-grade fever, shortness of breath, dry mouth and throat, and in severe cases, coughing up blood. The principal formula is Yi Qi Bu Fei Tang.

The author formulated this prescription based on the principle from *Nan Jing*: "For damage to the Lung, benefit its Qi." The combination of Ginseng, Ophiopogon, and Schisandra follows the method of Sheng Mai San (Generate the Pulse Decoction), while Columba Colla, Lilium Bulb, and Asparagus root are used to tonify Lung Yin, because Qi is essentially Water, and Water can transform into Qi. Coix seed and Poria are used to harmonize Spleen and Lung, while Fritillaria, Lycium Bark, and Coix seed are used to clear deficient heat and stop hemoptysis. When the Lung is moistened, Lung Qi becomes regulated, thereby establishing the generative cycle of Metal and Water (Jin Shui Xiang Sheng). Annotated by Zu Yi.
