For injuries to the head, use this prescription. Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae (Baizhu), Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata (Fuzi), Rhizoma Cimicifugae (Shengma), Herba Ephedrae (Mahuang), Flos Carthami Tinctorii (Honghua), Radix Chuanxiong (Chuanxiong), Rhizoma Zingiberis Recens (Ganjiang), Cortex Cinnamomi (Rougui), and Radix Glycyrrhizae Uralensis (Gancao) in equal parts. Add three slices of old ginger and three segments of green onion bulb, decoct with water, and take orally.

Cortex Cinnamomi (Rougui), Herba Ephedrae (Mahuang), Pericarpium Morus Albae (Sangpi), Semen Armeniacae Amarum (Xingren), Fructus Platycodonis (Jiegeng), fine tea, and Radix Glycyrrhizae Uralensis (Gancao) in equal parts. Add Calamus (Dengxin) for decoction and oral administration.

The edge of an old felt hat, three liang. Burn to ash but preserve its medicinal nature (cunxing). Mix with sesame oil and apply topically to the affected area.

A verse states: "It saves from various injuries and also from corporal punishment; Frankincense (Ruxiang) and Myrrh (Moyao) combined with Wumingyi, plus Eupolyphaga Steleophaga (Tubie) and true monkey bone; Arsenic Trioxide (Pishuang) should be cooked with vinegar. The six ingredients are ground into a fine powder, mixed with refined honey to form pill-sized balls. Before use, drink three cups of wine; fear not if beaten from dusk till dawn." Ingredients include: Resina Boswelliae (Ruxiang), Resina Commiphorae (Moyao), Eupolyphaga Steleophaga (Tubie), Wumingyi.

To treat corporal punishment by beating. Rhizoma Angelicae Dahuricae (Baizhi), three qian; Radix Paeoniae Rubra (Chishao), three qian; Resina Boswelliae (Ruxiang), roasted, one liang; Resina Commiphorae (Moyao), roasted, one liang; Semen Pruni Persicae (Huangjizi), one liang; Tile from an old latrine pit (Nengkewa), soaked in child's urine and wine, one liang. Grind all into a fine powder. Take orally mixed with wine before receiving the beating. If the injury is severe after the beating, only the following prescription should be used.

To treat corporal punishment by beating. Eupolyphaga Steleophaga (Tubie) soaked in wine, vinegar, ancient coins, Resina Boswelliae (Ruxiang) roasted, Resina Commiphorae (Moyao) roasted, Ramulus Sappan (Sumujie), and Fructus Crotonis Tiglii (Bashuang) in equal parts. Grind into powder. Take one ban to one li in amount, mixed with water and wine.

Radix et Rhizoma Rhei (Dahuang), four liang; Rhizoma Pinelliae (Banxia), two liang; Rhizoma Angelicae Dahuricae (Baizhi), two liang; Cortex Cinnamomi Cassiae (Guangui), four liang; Radix Glycyrrhizae Uralensis (Gancao), two liang. Grind all into powder. Mix with wine and apply to the injured area. Internally, take the above Taohua San.
