Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata (one liang, processed, skin removed) and Spica Schizonepetae (two liang).
The above ingredients are made into pills with vinegar and wheat flour paste, sized like *Cotinus coggygria* seeds. Take twenty pills per dose, administered with wine or warm boiled water. When ill, take on an empty stomach, three to four times daily. When healthy, take once in the morning. Guo Jiancheng, Shaofu, suffered from wind-induced spasms in his youth, with a flaccid jaw that could not close, requiring him to support his chin with his hand to eat. After taking this medicine six or seven doses, he recovered, and thus took it long-term. Over fifty years later, in his seventies, he remained vigorous, with no white hair or beard. This medicine is particularly effective for treating intestinal wind bleeding, with repeated reports of efficacy. Within one year, several patients suffering from rectal bleeding recovered after taking this medicine.
For treating heatstroke causing mental confusion, loss of consciousness, a sense of impending death, as well as restlessness, excessive thirst, and phlegm-saliva stagnation in the throat.
Non-boring *Gleditsia sinensis* fruit (one jin, scraped of skin, roasted over fierce fire until resembling bran-char, retaining medicinal properties but not turning to white ash; weigh out three liang) and Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata (one liang, roasted).
The above ingredients are ground together into a fine powder. Mix three large qian with fresh drawn water or warm boiled water; recovery occurs immediately. The efficacy of this medicine is miraculous and cannot be fully described.
For treating yin-cold accumulation and cold stagnation, severe pain in the heart and abdomen, vomiting and nausea, cold extremities, chest discomfort, and back pain. (Transmitted by Li Hui, Hanlin, from Wuzhou.)
Rhizoma Alpiniae Officinarum (one liang, crushed, stir-fried), Cinnamomi Cortex (one liang, bark removed), Radix Angelicae Sinensis (rhizome removed, one liang, crushed, stir-fried), Rhizoma Zingiberis Preparatum (one liang, processed), Radix Ginseng (one liang, rhizome removed), Fructus Evodiae Preparatus (seven qian half, stir-fried), Poria (one liang), Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata (half liang, processed).
The above ingredients are ground into a fine powder. Take two large qian per dose, add one dan half of water and five slices of fresh ginger, decoct until reduced to seventy percent, strain, and take on an empty stomach.
Symptoms manifesting at dusk or night, unbearable in intensity, often caused by qi injury due to cold, persisting if untreated. Particularly suitable for women. (The following two formulas transmitted by Meng Langzhong Chong, Xinfou.)
Carapax et Plastrum Testudinis (remove skirt and membrane, vinegar-processed, half liang), Radix Angelicae Sinensis (tail removed, one liang), Radix Aucklandoniae (half liang), Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae Viride (white pith removed, one fen), Fructus Aurantii Immaturus (half liang), Radix Ginseng (half liang), Rhizoma Sparganii (half liang), Myrrha (one fen, pounded), Sanguis Drachonis (one fen, pounded), Arecae Semen (one fen), Rhizoma Pinelliae (two qian, raw use).
The above ingredients are ground into a fine powder, mixed with vinegar-boiled thin paste to form pills sized like mung beans. Take fifteen pills with plain warm water at any time; pause when bowel movements are smooth. If qi masses flare up and bowels are obstructed, increase to fifty pills, stopping when bowel movement is restored. This condition requires taking this medicine to dissipate the qi mass. However, do not take large amounts suddenly; it must be consumed gradually over time. Take only one or two doses daily initially. Once qi dissipates and pain ceases, reduce to one dose daily, or every two to three days. Concurrently, rotate with the subsequent powder formula to tonify qi.
