疮。食兔肉，令子缺唇。食羊肝，令子多厄。食鳖肉，令子项短缩颈。鸡子与桑堪
同食，令子倒生，心寒。鲜鱼同田鸡食，令子喑哑。雀肉同豆酱食。令子面生 黑子。
食螃蟹，令子横生。食生姜，令子多指。食冰浆，令绝产。食雀肉饮酒，令子多淫无
耻。食慈菇，消胎气。食驴马肉，过月难产。豆酱合藿香食之，堕胎。食山羊肉，
令子多病。食鳅无鳞鱼，难产。食诸般菌，生子惊风而夭。食雀脑，令子患雀目。
歌曰∶ 斑水蛭及虻虫，乌头附子配天雄，野葛水银并巴豆，牛膝薏苡与蜈蚣，三棱
代赭芫花麝，大戟蛇脱黄雌雄，牙硝芒硝丹皮桂，槐花牵牛皂角同，半夏南星与通草，瞿麦
干姜桃仁通， 砂干漆蟹脚爪，地胆茅根莫用好。（此药外，或有未尽者，可以类推）
便产须知云∶勿乱服药，勿过饮酒，勿妄针灸，弗向非常地便；勿举重登高涉险，心有
大惊，犯之产难，子必癫痫；勿多睡卧，时时行步；勿劳力过伤，使肾气不足，生子解颅，脑破
下合；衣毋太温，食毋太饱，若脾胃不和，荣卫
虚怯，子必羸瘦多病。自家及邻家修造动土，犯其胎气，令子破形殒命。刀犯者，形必伤；泥
犯者，窍必塞；打击者，色青黯；紧缚者，相拘挛，有此等，验如影响，切宜避之。
Eating chicken meat together with glutinous rice may cause the child to be born with tapeworm infection (Cestodiasis). Eating dog meat may cause the child to be mute. Eating carp together with eggs may cause the child to develop malnutrition syndrome (Gan Syndrome) and multiple sores. Eating rabbit meat may cause cleft lip in the child. Eating sheep liver may subject the child to misfortune and adversity. Eating soft-shelled turtle meat may cause the child to have a short neck. Eating eggs together with mulberries may cause breech presentation and coldness of the heart. Eating fresh fish together with frogs may cause the child to be aphonic. Eating sparrow meat together with fermented bean paste may cause black spots on the child's face. Eating crab may cause transverse lie during childbirth. Eating ginger may cause polydactyly in the child. Drinking iced beverages may lead to sterility. Eating sparrow brain while drinking alcohol may cause the child to have excessive lust and lack of shame. Eating colocasia esculenta (Taro) dissipates fetal qi. Eating donkey or horse meat may lead to post-term pregnancy and difficult labor. Eating fermented bean paste together with Agastache rugosa (Huo Xiang) may induce abortion. Eating goat meat may cause the child to be prone to illness. Eating scaleless loach-type fish may cause difficult labor. Eating various mushrooms may cause the child to suffer from convulsive disease (Infantile Convulsion) and die young. Eating sparrow brain may cause the child to suffer from night blindness (Achromatopsia/Night Blindness).
The verse states: Mylabris (Ban Mao), leeches (Shui Zhi), and horseflies (Meng Chong); Aconitum carmichaelii (Wu Tou), Aconitum kusnezoffii (Fu Zi), and Aconitum coreanum (Tian Xiong); Gelsemium elegans (Ye Ge), mercury (Shui Yin), and Croton tiglium (Ba Dou); Achyranthes bidentata (Niu Xi), Coix lacryma-jobi (Yi Yi Ren), and Scolopendra (Wu Gong); Curcuma zedoaria (San Leng), Ochre (Dai Zhe), Genkwa flos (Yuan Hua), and Moschus (She Xiang); Euphorbia pekinensis (Da Ji), shed snake skin (She Tuo), male and female yellow animals (Huang Ci Xiong), Sodium Sulfate (Ya Xiao), Mirabilite (Mang Xiao), Moutan Cortex (Dan Pi), and Cinnamomi Ramulus (Gui Zhi); Sophora japonica flos (Huai Hua), Pharbitis semen (Qian Niu), and Gleditsia sinensis (Zao Jiao) used together; Pinellia ternata (Ban Xia), Aster tataricus (Nan Xing), and Lycopodium japonicum (Tong Cao); Dianthus superbus (Qu Mai), Zingiberis Rhizoma (Gan Jiang), and Persicae Semen (Tao Ren) used together; Amomum villosum (Sha Ren), Dried Lac Resin (Gan Qi), and crab claws, plus Diplocardi (Di Dan) and Imperata cylindrica rhizome (Mao Gen) should not be used well. (Besides these medicines, there may be others not fully listed, which can be inferred by analogy.)
"Bi Chan Xu Zhi" (Essentials for Childbirth) states: Do not take medicines indiscriminately, do not drink alcohol excessively, do not perform acupuncture and moxibustion arbitrarily, and do not give birth in unusual places; do not lift heavy objects, climb high, or venture into danger, and avoid great fright in the mind, as violating these will cause difficult labor, and the child will surely suffer from epilepsy; do not sleep and lie down too much, walk frequently; do not overexert yourself and injure your body, causing insufficiency of Kidney Qi, which results in the child being born with open fontanelle (Jie Lu) and sunken brain; clothing should not be too warm, food should not be too filling; if the Spleen and Stomach are disharmonious, and Ying and Wei (Defensive and Nutritive Qi) are weak and deficient, the child will surely be emaciated and prone to illness. Construction and earth-moving activities at home or by neighbors, if they offend the fetal qi, may cause fetal deformity and death. Offended by blades, the form will surely be injured; offended by mud, the orifices will surely be blocked; struck, the complexion will be dark blue; tightly bound, the limbs will be contracted and spasmodic. For such occurrences, verification is as immediate as shadow following form; one must strictly avoid them.
