Mian Daji (Euphorbia fischeriana), also known as Shan Luobo, has a pungent, bitter, and spicy taste, is slightly warm in nature, and possesses slight toxicity. It treats long-standing food stagnation and phlegm accumulation in the stomach, presenting as gelatinous masses. It attacks parasitic accumulation, promotes urination, directs Qi downward, reduces edema, and induces vomiting of phlegm-saliva.
(Single herb prescription) For treating edema: Take Mian Daji powder, administer 5 fen per dose, with boiling water. Avoid salt for 100 days; if the duration of avoidance is insufficient, the edema will recur. After taking the medicine, if yellow fluid is discharged and edema subsides, but diarrhea persists, consume cold congee to counteract it.
(Single herb prescription) For treating all types of stagnation, including food, phlegm, Qi, and parasites; pain from mass formations; distension in the chest and diaphragm; abdominal鼓胀 (drum-like distension); and indigestion.
Grind Mian Daji into powder, bind with rice paste to make pills the size of horse beans. Administer 7 pills per dose with boiling water. When using Daji, the skin and core must be removed.
