As stated in the example verse: For Jia and Ji years, start with Jia Zi; for Yi and Geng years, Bing Zi is the beginning; for Bing and Xin years, start with Wu Zi; for Ding and Ren years, Geng Zi takes the position; for Wu and Gui years, start with Ren Zi. The calculation of Dun Jia (Hidden Stem) is indeed infallible.
For Jia and Ji years, the sequence starts at Zi hour: from Jia Zi to Wu Chen, Wu resides in the Chen palace, which belongs to Earth; therefore, it transforms into Earth.
For Yi and Geng years, the sequence starts at Zi hour: from Bing Zi to Geng Chen, Geng resides in the Chen palace, which belongs to Metal; therefore, it transforms into Metal.
For Bing and Xin years, the sequence starts at Zi hour: from Wu Zi to Ren Chen, Ren resides in the Chen palace, which belongs to Water; therefore, it transforms into Water.
For Ding and Ren years, the sequence starts at Zi hour: from Geng Zi to Jia Chen, Shen resides in the Chen palace (Note: Textual error likely intended 'Geng', but translated as per source), which belongs to Wood; therefore, it transforms into Wood.
For Wu and Gui years, the sequence starts at Zi hour: from Ren Zi to Bing Chen, Bing resides in the Chen palace, which belongs to Fire; therefore, it transforms into Fire.
