(The root can induce vomiting and purging. The seed, used raw, moistens the Heart and Lungs and treats jaundice; when stir-fried, it treats pulmonary fibrosis (Fei Fei), hemoptysis, intestinal wind with bloody stool, dysentery with red and white discharge, regurgitation, and vomiting. Its juice can mitigate the toxicity of realgar-mercury compound (Xiong Hong).)

(Those that crumble like cotton upon cutting are of good quality. Wash with wine. Synergistic with hair. Antagonistic with Ophiopogon japonicus (Mai Men Dong). Can suppress Cinnabar (Dan Sha), Realgar (Xiong Huang), and Sulfur (Liu Huang).)

After harvesting, check for spots on the leaves, pointed rootlets, and square stems. This herb breaks blood stasis and resolves long-standing accumulations. When processing both large and small bugleweed, finely chop them, place them in a silk bag, and hang them in the southeast corner of the house to dry. *Stephania tetrandra* (Fang Ji, Fangfeng) acts as an assistant drug.)

(When preparing this herb, first boil it in an old steamer basket (Zeng Dian) to remove the salty taste, bake until dry, and finely chop. For every jin (approx. 500g) processed, use ten steamer baskets. Finely chop Kelp (Kun Bu). Place the two ingredients separately, pour in flowing water from the east, maintain from Si hour (9-11 AM) to Hai hour (9-11 PM), adding water as needed so it does not run low.)

(When preparing this herb, do not use woody stems, as they are yellowish, fishy-smelling, wrinkled, and have useless seeds. When using *Stephania tetrandra* (Fang Ji), select those with yellow heart-like patterns, then finely chop. Steam together with the roots of Plantago asiatica (Che Qian Cao) for half a day, remove the Plantago roots, finely chop, and use. Another method involves washing with wine and slicing. Yin Nie acts as an assistant drug. Antagonistic with Asarum (Xi Xin).)

(Transparent texture indicates high quality. Take 10 liang of Gastrodia elata (Tian Ma), and 1 yi of Tribulus terrestris (Ji Li Zi). Slowly roast the Tribulus until scorched. First, place 10 liang of Tian Ma in a jar, cover with the roasted Tribulus, seal the inside and outside with triple-layered paper, and tie securely. Roast over fire from Si hour (9-11 AM) to Wei hour (1-3 PM). Remove the Tribulus, re-roast, and repeat the process of placing Tian Ma in the jar, covering with roasted Tribulus, and sealing. Repeat this cycle seven times. After removing from the jar, wipe off the condensation with a cloth, split with a knife, bake dry, finely chop, and pound alone. Alternatively, wrap in flour and bake thoroughly before slicing.)
