The *Ju Tong Lun* (Treatise on Pain) states: When cold pathogen enters the meridians, blood flow becomes sluggish and stagnant, and meridian qi-blood fails to circulate. If cold lodges outside the vessels, blood volume decreases; if it lodges inside the vessels, qi mechanism becomes obstructed, resulting in sudden pain. If repeatedly attacked by cold, the pain persists for a long time. Cold lodging between the Xiaochang (Small Intestine) mu-yuan (source areas) and collateral vessels causes blood to become viscous and unable to enter the major meridians; qi and blood stagnate and fail to move, thus forming accumulations over time. Cold lodging in the stomach and intestines causes rebellious qi to rush upward, resulting in pain accompanied by vomiting. Cold lodging in the Small Intestine prevents its normal function of gathering and transforming, leading to abdominal pain and diarrhea.
Carefully note: The chapter details how cold pathogen lodging in various meridians and mutual traction cause severe pain in the abdomen and groin.
For detailed information on accumulations, study this text carefully.
