The above two ingredients are boiled in five sheng of water until three sheng remain, divided into three doses to be taken warm.

Wenbai Wan (Warm White Pill): Treats ten types of water diseases.
See the "Ji Ju" (Accumulation and Mass) section for the formula.
Note: The above formulas differ in weight and potency compared to those from the Taiyang pattern examples. They should be selected according to the specific syndrome.
Sanyin Danggui San (Three Causes Angelica Powder): Edema is often caused by Kidney Water failing to nourish Heart Fire, which in turn fails to nourish Spleen Earth. Consequently, Spleen Earth cannot control Water, leading to an overflow of water qi, blockage of qi and vessels, penetration into meridians and collaterals, and the manifestation of edema.
Mu Xiang (Costus Root, Radix Aucklandoniae); Chi Fu Ling (Red Poria, Polyporus Umbellatus cum Mycelium); Dang Gui (Angelica Sinensis Root, Radix Angelicae Sinensis); Gui Zhi (Cinnamon Twig, Ramulus Cinnamomi); Mu Tong (Akebia Stem, Caulis Akebiae); Chi Shao (Red Peony Root, Radix Paeoniae Rubra); Mu Dan Pi (Moutan Bark, Cortex Moutan); Bing Lang (Areca Seed, Semen Arecae); Chen Pi (Aged Tangerine Peel, Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae); Bai Zhu (Atractylodes Rhizome, Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae).

Grind into fine powder, mix with refined honey, and form pills the size of wutong seeds. Take seventy pills per dose on an empty stomach, administered with rice water.
Note: These two formulas originate from Taiyang pattern examples. Danxi stated: When treating edema due to Spleen-Stomach deficiency, one should employ methods to promote dampness resolution and diuresis. This allows the Spleen Qi to become solid, naturally restoring its transportation and transformation functions, and facilitating ascending and descending movements. By activating the pivot mechanism, water moves naturally; this is not the same as the water-draining method of Wuling San (Five-Ling Decoction). One must strictly avoid purgative methods; caution is essential. Although not all treatment methods are detailed here, students who observe this example will grasp more than half of the principles.
Miscellaneous Formulas
