Secret Formula: Treats injuries to the eyes caused by firecrackers, hot tin, or scalding water/fire, resulting in unbearable pain of the cornea (black pupil).
Calcined Calamine (Lu Gan Shi) (1 qian), Borneol (Bing Pian) (3 fen).
Grind into fine powder and apply to the eye for immediate pain relief.
The *Secret Manual* states: Whenever flying threads or dust accidentally enter the eye and adhere without being removed, causing eyelid pain, a gritty sensation making it difficult to open the eyes, leading to mental restlessness and hyperactive fire, if one rubs vigorously, it results in redness, swelling, pain, tearing, and photophobia. Treatment method: Immediately grind gold ink and apply inside the eye, keep closed for a moment, turn over the eyelid, and use a bone hairpin to remove dust and threads; this will cure it. If one is unfamiliar with this method, prolonged duration combined with emotional stagnation will further increase the fire. If the eyelids suffer from blood stasis accumulation, rubbing the cornea gradually generates nebulae (corneal opacity). First administer Cheqian San (containing Ginseng Radix, Platycodon Root, Scrophularia Root, Poria, Asarum, Red Peony Root, Schisandra Fruit, Rhubarb, Plantago Seed), Shengfeng Tang, and apply Hupo San. Use a lancet to wash away the blood stasis.
Verified Prescription: Make small pills from wood comb dirt, place at the corner of the eye, and the thread will come out.
Another prescription: Crush Acorus Tatarinowii Rhizome (Shi Chang Pu). For the left eye, plug the right nostril; for the right eye, plug the left nostril. Highly effective.
Another prescription: Apply a few drops of fresh ginger juice into the eye; the thread will roll out with tears, and swelling subsides immediately.
Another prescription: Apply mulberry sap; the object will come out.
Another prescription: Moisten a new brush, stir inside the eye, and the object will come out.
Verified Method: Whenever dust enters the eye, simply close the eyes and spit and retch several times; the object will come out naturally.
Another method (copied by Xu): Take one live dung beetle, hold it above the eye casting its shadow, and the object will come out.
Various objects entering the eye: Grind gold ink with clean water, dip the tip of a chopstick, and apply to the eye; the object will come out.
Verified Prescription (Copied Manuscript): For children who like smoking who accidentally suffer this, if washed with other decoctions, the pain increases with washing, leading inevitably to blindness. Must gently rub with loose hair or tassel threads to heal.
Verified Prescription: Wash with barley decoction; the object will come out.
