\r瘿瘤发\p04-a41a166.bmp\r
\r体疽发\p04-a41a167.bmp\r
[ Ying Liu Fa (Goiter-like Tumor Eruption) ]
Shen Douyuan stated: Ying Liu Fa occurs at the midline of the spine, near the Dazhui (Great Vertebra) acupoint (located in the depression above the first vertebra, where the three Yang meridians and the Du Meridian intersect), the Taodao (Pathway of Qi) acupoint (located in the gap below the segment of the great vertebra in the neck, an intersection of the Du Meridian and the Foot-Taiyang Bladder Meridian; obtain by bending forward), and the Shenzhu (Spirit Pillar) acupoint (located in the gap below the third vertebral segment; obtain by bending forward. The ends of these three acupoints are all areas connected by the Du Meridian). This condition is extremely severe and dangerous; one must employ the Tuo method (supporting the body's resistance to expel toxins) early. This area is the sea of the Yangwei Vessel (Yang Linking Vessel), and the Du Meridian leads all meridians. If a carbuncle or ulcer develops here, it indicates that the Du Meridian has failed to lead and control the meridians, hence the prognosis is ominous. (From *Qi Xuan*)
[ Ti Ju Fa (Body Carbuncle Eruption) ]
Shen Douyuan stated: The range of Ti Ju Fa extends upward to the Feishu (Lung-Shu) acupoint (located below the third vertebra, one and a half cun lateral to the spine on both sides) and downward to the Ganshu (Liver-Shu) acupoint (located below the ninth vertebra, one and a half cun lateral to the spine on both sides, from *Chu Tiao Fu Jing*). It is symmetrical on the left and right, located beside the prominent bones. This is the region of the Foot-Taiyang Bladder Meridian, which is characterized by abundant blood and scarce qi; acupuncture can be performed after eight days. If it does not suppurate within twenty days, death ensues. Alternatively, if the swelling at the initial onset resembles a pepper seed, death also ensues. (From *Qi Xuan*)
Wang Kentang stated: Jing Ti Fa (Whole-Body Eruption), also known as Jiao Yan Fa (Pepper-Eye Eruption), manifests as a carbuncle on the back. The skin color remains unchanged, with sensations of numbness and slight itching. The skin becomes hard and rough like the hide of an ox's neck, covering an area of two or three chi. It is caused by exposure to foul air while fasting during the height of summer, combined with anger and accumulated depression. If pus does not form within seven days, Garlic-Separated Moxibustion is appropriate. If the lesion rises after moxibustion, and the patient’s spirit is clear and pulse is harmonious, it is treatable. If the lesion does not rise after moxibustion, accompanied by abdominal distension, coma, and a faint, rapid, or intermittent pulse, death ensues. Survival occurs if sweating follows the administration of diaphoretic agents; death occurs if no sweat follows. Survival occurs if the lesion becomes ruddy and rises with pain sensation following the administration of tonic agents; death occurs if the lesion expands, the patient refuses food, and the tissue becomes dry, black, and sunken. (From *Zhun Sheng*)
Wang Kentang stated: Yin-Yang Ju (Yin-Yang Carbuncle) presents with variable numbness on the back, alternating between swelling and collapsing, softness and hardness, and chills and fever. It is caused by internal disharmony of the Seven Emotions leading to an imbalance of Yin and Yang. This condition must present with extreme thirst. If the spirit is clear and the pulse is stable, it is treatable. If the patient is comatose, restless, and unable to eat, death ensues. If yellow-white pus appears within ten days, it is treatable. If no pus appears after several days, death ensues. (From *Zhun Sheng*)
