Initially, this feels relieving; otherwise, the itch becomes so extreme one wishes to die. This is caused by kidney and liver fire condensing into a "iron base" within the ear, which cannot be cured by decoctions. It is appropriate to treat with Jiuyang Dan (Itch-Relieving Elixir). After recovery, taking thirty *jin* of Liuwei Dihuang Wan (Six-Ingredient Pill with Rehmannia) is advisable.

For redness and ulceration of the ear lobes: Pick tender branches of mulberry, jujube, locust, willow, and peach, boil in water to make a decoction, and wash three times daily.
Another Prescription: Grind Fritillariae Bulbus (Beimu) and Calomelas (Qingfen) uniformly and apply dry powder.
