Shen Douyuan stated: Xiangban Chuang (Fragrant Petal Sore), also known as Jin Yin Chuang (Oozing and Spreading Sore), initially presents with very small lesions. It begins with sores followed by pain; exudate flows out, oozing and spreading over the surrounding skin, causing damp-rotting of the muscles. It spreads to the entire body and often occurs on the face and around the ears. (From *Qixuan*)

Yangxu (Sheep Whiskers), Jingjie (Schizonepetae Herba), Gan Zao (Jujubae Fructus, pitted, each retaining their medicinal properties, 2 qian).
Grind into a fine powder, add Qianfen (Lead Carbonate, 5 fen). Use a small amount mixed with oil for application. First, wash the area with warm water and dry it thoroughly, then apply the paste for immediate healing.
Li Dongyuan stated: Lian Yin Chuang (Smelting Silver Sore), which is Mian Yin Chuang (Face Oozing Sore), arises because the mother, during pregnancy, excessively enjoyed sour, spicy, or strange-tasting foods, leading to this condition in the fetus. (From *Jingyi*)
Shen Douyuan stated: Newborn infants are tightly bound at the hands and feet, causing damp-heat qi to accumulate under the chin, in the cheeks, armpits, and leg creases. This accumulation leads to damp-rotting and sore formation, resulting from inadequate care by the wet nurse. Do not use other medicines; use only Fulonggan (Dragon's House Earth) alone, regardless of quantity, grind it into a fine powder, sprinkle it dry, and cover with paper. (From *Qixuan*)

Hu Gongbi stated: Shu Dou (Summer Heat Pox) is caused by summer-heat invading the skin and hair. Its shape resembles pox, being round and clean, with a red root that is swollen and painful, hence the name "pox." (From *Qingnang*)
Cheng (Gu Shicheng) believes that children playing in the scorching sun during summer months, sitting on bricks or stones heated by the sun, or being influenced by the mother's summer-heat while in swaddling clothes, can all cause this disease to grow densely on the head and face, named Shu Dou. The treatment method involves internally clearing summer-heat and draining heat. Select key areas to apply medication to eliminate a few lesions; do not apply it everywhere. If all lesions are treated uniformly, the contracted summer-heat will have no way to resolve externally, inevitably leading to deeper invasion. Malaria and dysentery will likely ensue. Do not be confused by its minor appearance.
