Chen Shigong stated: Goose palm wind (Eczema of the palms, characterized by thickened, cracked skin resembling a goose's webbed foot) is caused by fire-heat and dry blood in the Hand-Yangming Stomach Meridian (Note: Traditionally Hand-Yangming refers to the Large Intestine Meridian; "Stomach" here may be a textual variant or specific theoretical linkage), combined with external cold-coldness condensation, leading to withered and rough skin. Initially presenting as purple spots and white dots, over time the skin on the palms becomes thickened, dry, and continuously cracks. (From *Waike Zhengzong*)
He also said: Residual toxicity from seasonal sores that has not been fully cleared can also cause this condition.
Shen Douyuan stated: Patients with ymei chuang (Syphilis/Kaposi-like lesions) who consume goose meat may also develop this disease. (From *Qixuan Bencao*)
*Yizong Xinfa* states: This condition manifests as layers of peeling skin on the palms and fingers, exposing flesh and blood.
**Er Fan Tang (Two Alum Decoction)** (From *Waike Zhengzong*)
Bai Fan (Alumen, White Alum), Zao Fan (Melanteritum, Green Vitriol) (4 liang each), Hai'er Cha (Camelliae Semen Extract, Child's Tea), Bai Ye (Platycladi Cacumen, Biota Tops) (8 liang).
Use ten bowls of water to decoct the above herbs for several boils before use. First, apply Tung oil (Verniciae Oleum) to the affected area. Light a paper wick soaked in Tung oil and smoke the affected area with the flame for a while. Then, pour the hot decoction into a clean bucket. Place the hand over the bucket, cover with cloth to trap the steam, ensuring no heat escapes. When the liquid is slightly warm, pour it into a basin and soak/wash the hands for an extended period. One treatment can cure it. Avoid contact with raw water for seven days to prevent recurrence. This formula is more effective for severe cases and should not be used for mild cases.
**Another Prescription** (From *Milu*)
