Yuepi Zhu Yao (Principal Ingredient for Yuepi, 1 qian) [Note: "Yuepi" likely refers to a specific preparation or ingredient not standardly translated; kept as proper noun], Zhenzhu (Pearl, 3 fen), Hupo (Amber, 2 fen), Pengsha (Borax, 1 fen), Qiushi (Autumn Stone, 1 fen), Xuanmingfen (Mirabilite, 1 fen), Bingpian (Borneol, 1 fen), Zhusha (Cinnabar, 3 fen). Mix uniformly and apply to the eyes.
Burn several sheng of late silkworms to ash. Boil Tongbian (Child's Urine) and filter the juice. Evaporate until dry and allow smoke to form, turning it white like frost. Store this for use as the principal ingredient in Xiaobo Yun San (Small Cloud-Dispersing Powder). For every 1 qian of Ganshi (Calamine), add 5 fen of this frost.
Use Sangchaihui (Ash from Mulberry branches). Prepare according to the previous method using Tongbian (Child's Urine), allow smoke to form, and collect the frost. Use this as the principal ingredient in Dabo Yun San (Large Cloud-Dispersing Powder). For every 1 qian of Ganshi (Calamine), add 5 fen of this frost.
Moisten thin paper with salt water and dry it. Wrap the pearls in the paper. Heat a tile until red-hot and remove it. Test the tile with paper; if no black mark appears, place the pearl on the tile. After half a moment, remove it and grind finely. For every 1 qian of pearl, add 3 fen of high-quality Zhusha (Cinnabar). Set aside for use.
Another method: Wrap the pearl in paper and place it under the armpit for one shichen (two hours), then grind into powder.
(Which is Yingfen / Eagle Droppings)
Take wild eagle droppings. Heat a tile until hot. Lay thin paper on the tile and place the empty-shell eagle droppings on the paper. Process until the qi is exhausted. Grind finely and set aside for use.
(Which is Macaque/Sparrow Droppings - Note: Text says Quefen Sparrow Droppings)
Grind Quefen (Sparrow Droppings) finely and remove coarse residues. Moisten thoroughly with milk made from grinding Binlang (Areca Seed) until black. Place in a copper vessel, dry in the sun, and set aside for use.
Place Ascaris lumbricoides (Roundworm) inside a scallion tube, wrap in paper. Heat two bricks. Place the roundworm between the bricks. Process until dry but retaining its medicinal nature (cun xing). Set aside for use.
Method to obtain roundworms: Feed half a zhan of rock sugar to an empty-stomach roundworm. Shortly after, administer Zaofan (Alum). The roundworm will naturally be vomited out from the mouth.
Roast several large floral spiders on a tile until dry, then grind into powder. Set aside for use. Place the spider in a bowl; wait for it to die before roasting. Using live spiders is ineffective.
Use 2-3 jin of Mangxiao (Mirabilite). Boil with Luobozhi (Radish Juice) and Doufujiang (Tofu Slurry) to remove the salty taste. Wait for new crystals to form, then take out, dry in the sun, seal in a jar, and heat for half a stick of incense. Remove and set aside for use.
Dry Tongbian (Child's Urine) by boiling. Boil again with Mazhuyou (Sesame Oil). Then boil repeatedly with Xueshui (Snow Water) or Lushui (Dew Water) until dry. Take out, seal in a jar, heat for half a stick of incense. Cool down completely, remove, and set aside for use.
