Rén Rén (Buckthorn Fruit, *Fructus Rhamni*): 1 qian (after removing pure oil).
Guan Fen (Lead Carbonate): 2.5 qian.
Grind them together into a fine powder. Dissolve with human milk and apply to the affected area.

Qi deficiency leads to dim and insufficient vision; deficiency causes tearing and blurred vision.
Heat pathogens cause redness, swelling, and pain; wind pathogens exacerbate swelling and itching.
Internal cataracts are mostly caused by excessive sexual activity; food toxins produce discharge and membranes that obscure vision.
Pterygium (fleshy growth over the eye) arises from this, caused by alcohol damaging the Heart and Liver.
Entropion with inverted eyelashes arise from Spleen Qi deficiency and wandering Wind; these conditions are noteworthy.
These symptoms are easy to identify; medication for clearing corneal opacities is without error.

Cold in the Liver causes frequent tearing; Cold in the Kidney affects both large and small pupils.
Cold in the Spleen causes inability to open the eyes; Cold in the Lung results in clear breath and lucid spirit [Note: Textual ambiguity or specific pathological state].
Cold in the Bladder causes dim vision; Cold in the Heart disrupts Qi regulation.
Cold in the Large Intestine causes myopia; Cold in the Stomach causes unclear vision.
Blood flooding the pupil area is due to Heat in the Heart; Heat in the Liver causes pterygium.
Heat in the Spleen makes it difficult to open the eyes; Heat in the Stomach causes frequent stinging pain.
Heat in the Kidney causes pupils to lack luster; Heat in the Lung causes swelling of the upper and lower eyelids.
Heat in the Bladder causes entropion and inverted lashes; Heat in the Large Intestine causes red vessels and ulceration.

8 liang of Gan Shi (Calamine), crushed like bean sizes, placed in a copper pot. Soak with white child's urine until it exceeds the medicine surface by two finger-widths. Boil dry using mulberry wood fire. Take out, soak again, and boil again. Repeat this seven times until a bitter and salty taste is detected. If the taste is light, continue boiling. Each time, bake dry and set aside for use.
Set aside 2 liang. For the remainder:
Long Sha (Dragon Sand/Realgar, *Realgar*): 6 liang (processed). Seal in a Yangcheng jar. Heat with mulberry wood fire until red hot. After burning one incense stick, take out. Upon cooling, it becomes Ni Fen (basic lead carbonate), weighing only 3.5–3.6 liang. Take 1.6 qian of this and add 1.5 qian of Zhu Sha (Cinnabar, *Cinnabaris*). Grind extremely fine. This is called "Wu Peng" (Five Roastings).
The remaining 2 liang are processed separately to make "Hu Ye" (Tiger Liquid).
Zi Su (Perilla Leaf, *Folium Perillae*), Bo He (Mint, *Herba Menthae*), Fang Feng (Saposhnikovia Root, *Radix Saposhnikoviae*), Jing Jie (Schizonepeta, *Herba Schizonepetae*), Qiang Huo (Notopterygium Rhizome, *Rhizoma Notopterygii*), Lian Qiao (Forsythia Fruit, *Fructus Forsythiae*), Qi Ai (Qicheng Mugwort, *Folium Artemisiae Argyi*).
Decoct these seven herbs in five bowls of water to make a concentrated juice. Filter out the dregs. Add two more bowls of water, decoct until one bowl remains, filter out dregs, and combine all juices. Clarify to remove sand and mud. Put the reserved 2 liang of Gan Shi back into the copper pot. When adding the juice, do so until the Gan Shi particles are no longer visible. Dry each time, repeating several times until the juice is exhausted. Then, boil three times with fresh ginger juice, drying each time. Do not heat until red, as this may damage the medicinal properties. This is called "Hu Ye". Add 1.5 qian of Zhu Sha (Cinnabar, *Cinnabaris*) and set aside for use.
It is also said: Zi Su (Perilla Leaf, *Folium Perillae*) and Qiang Huo (Notopterygium Rhizome, *Rhizoma Notopterygii*), added with Xi Xin (Asarum, *Radix Asari*) and Xia Ku Cao (Prunella Spike, *Spica Prunellae*), are the main herbs for treating Wind-eye.
It is also said: Using Da Huang (Rhubarb, *Radix et Rhizoma Rhei*) alone is the main treatment for Fire-eye.
