Use Rhizoma Arisaematis Cum Bile (Sheng Nanting) and Radix Saposhnikoviae (Fangfeng, 防风) [deprived of rhizome] each four liang; Rhizoma Pinelliae Preparatum (Sheng Banxia, 生半夏) soaked in wine and washed, Fructus Coicis (Shi Huangqin, 实黄芩 - *Note: Text says 'Shi Huangqin', likely a typo for Huangqin or specific part, but literal translation used*), and Raw Radix Glycyrrhizae (Sheng Gancao, 生甘草) each two liang. For each dose, take four qian, add two zhan of water and ten slices of fresh ginger, decoct to one zhan. Take warm at any time. It treats sudden apoplexy with locked jaw, inability to speak, deviation of mouth and eyes, spasm and tension of tendons and vessels, convulsions and pain due to excess wind and phlegm, sudden falling, dizziness, heavy head, fullness and irritability in the chest and diaphragm, hemiplegia on either side, numbness of hands and feet, painful joints, difficulty in walking, mental confusion, lethargy, and all wind syndromes.
Take Rhizoma Pinelliae (Banxia, 半夏) one liang, washed seven times with water; Cinnabar (Chensha, 辰砂) half a liang, ground; Rhizoma Arisaematis (Tian Nanting, 天南星) processed; Rhizoma Polygoni Multiflori? No, Rhizoma Typhonii (Baifuzi, 白附子) processed; Bombyx Batryticatus (Bai Jiangcan, 白僵蚕) de-silked and stir-fried; Tail end of Scorpion (Xie Shao, 蝎梢) stir-fried (one fen); Borax (Pengsha, 硼砂) ground; Calculus Bovis (Niuhuang, 牛黄) ground (each one qian). Grind into fine powder, mix evenly. Use rice paste made by boiling water and flour as binder to make pills the size of Sophora japonica seeds. Take twenty pills per dose, administered with decoction of Fresh Ginger (Shengjiang, 生姜) and Herba Schizonepetae (Jingjie, 荆芥). It treats various conditions of excessive wind-phlegm causing headache, photophobia, eye distension, palpitations, and chest fullness.
Take Rhizoma Arisaematis Cum Bile (Sheng Nanting, 生南星) washed (four liang); Cinnabar (Chensha, 辰砂) ground; Raw Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata (Sheng Chuanwu, 生川乌) processed, skin and umbilicus removed (two liang each). Grind into fine powder. For each use, mix with wine and apply topically to the painful area. It treats male lateral or frontal headaches, brain-invading wind, and Taiyang channel headache causing restlessness in sitting and lying.

Take Ta Yi Yu Yuliang (Taiyi Yuliyang, 太乙禹余粮) each one jin. The above two herbs are boiled in six sheng of water to obtain two sheng. Strain and divide into three warm doses.
Take Red Kaolin (Chishizhi, 赤石脂) one jin, half used whole and half sifted into powder; Dried Ginger (Ganjiang, 干姜) one liang; Rice (Jingmi, 粳米) one sheng. Boil the three herbs in seven sheng of water until the rice is cooked. Remove the whole piece of Chishizhi. Add one fangcun bi of Chishizhi powder to the decoction. Take seven he warm, three times daily. If cured after one dose, do not take the remainder. It treats Shaoyin disease with diarrhea and pus/blood in stool.
Take Red Kaolin (Chishizhi, 赤石脂) one liang; Sichuan Pepper (Shujiao, 蜀椒) one liang; Radix Aconiti Carmichaelii Preparata (Wutou, 乌头) one fen, processed; Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata (Fuzi, 附子) half a liang, processed; Dried Ginger (Ganjiang, 干姜) one liang, powdered. Mix with honey to form pills the size of Sophora japonica seeds. Take one pill twice daily. If ineffective, slightly increase the dose.
It clears heat, carbuncles, and epilepsy. It treats adult Fengyin epilepsy and pediatric convulsive epilepsy occurring dozens of times a day, refractory to medical treatment.
Rhizoma Rhei Preparatum (Dahuang, 大黄); Dried Ginger (Ganjiang, 干姜); Fossilized Mammal Bones (Longgu, 龙骨) each four liang; Ramulus Cinnamomi (Guizhi, 桂枝) three liang; Radix Glycyrrhizae (Gancao, 甘草); Concha Ostreae (Muli, 牡蛎) each two liang; Halloysitum Rubrum (Hanshuishi, 寒水石); Talcum (Huashi, 滑石); Red Kaolin (Chishizhi, 赤石脂).
The above twelve herbs are coarsely pounded and sieved, placed in a silk bag. Take a pinch held by three fingers, boil in three sheng of well water for three boils. Take one sheng warm. Chao Yuanfang states that Hongjiaojiao (Foot Qi / Beriberi) is suitable for Fengyin Tang.
