This is the *Ganying Wan* (Miracle Response Pill), but it uses only Dingxiang (Clove, *Syzygii Aromatisati Flos*), Muxiang (Costus Root, *Aucklandiae Radix*) (each 1 qian), Ganjiang (Dried Ginger, *Zingiberis Rhizoma*), and Baicaoshuang (Soot from Hundred Herbs, *Herba Centaurii Carbonisata*) (each 5 qian). These four herbs are each ground into powder, mixed evenly, and passed through a fine sieve multiple times to obtain an extremely fine powder.

Separately, Rouddou (Nutmeg, *Myristicae Semen*), Xingren (Apricot Seed, *Armeniacae Semen Amarum*), and Badou (Croton Seed, *Crotonis Fructus*) (5 qian, stir-fried to remove oil, retaining slight medicinal properties) are ground together into a paste. The aforementioned herb powders are added to this paste. Prepare 2 liang of wax in advance; boil it in vinegar to remove impurities, melt it, add half a liang of oil to blend, then mix into the paste with the fine herb powder. Grind repeatedly for hundreds of strokes until the mixture can be rolled into strips. Wrap each strip in wax paper; each strip weighs approximately 1 qian. Form into pills as needed and take orally. This treats diarrhea caused by cold or frozen beverages, stopping it immediately. This is the method employed by Haicang.

Physicians consider this formula an ancient prescription, asserting that only this version represents the authentic *Ju Fang* (Bureau Formula). The family of Gao Dianqian also collected herbal remedies; regarding symptoms, they noted that Badou (Croton Seed, *Crotonis Fructus*) should be large in size. Yu Fa refers to this as *Shenyin Wan* (Divine Response Pill).

Use Chuanwu (Aconite Lateral Root, *Aconiti Radialis Lateralis Praeparata*) (remove skin and navel, 2.5 liang), Ziwan (Aster Root, *Asteris Radix et Rhizoma*) (remove seedlings, leaves, and soil; nine-joint specimens are preferred), Changpu (Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma) (remove whiskers; nine-joint specimens are preferred), Chaihu (Bupleurum Root, *Bupleuri Radix*) (wash clean, remove root crown), Houpo (Magnolia Bark, *Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex*) (process with fresh ginger juice), Jiegeng (Platycodon Root, *Platycodi Radix*) (remove black skin and root crown), Wuzhuyu (Evodia Fruit, *Evodiae Fructus*) (rinse seven times with hot water, dry-bake), Zaojiao (Tamarisk Twig, *Gleditsiae Sinensis Spina*) (remove strings and seeds, stir-fry), Fuling (Poria, *Polyporus*), Ganjiang (Dried Ginger, *Zingiberis Rhizoma*) (stir-fry), Huanglian (Coptis Rhizome, *Coptidis Rhizoma*) (remove skin), Renshen (Ginseng Root, *Panacis Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma*) (remove root crown), Badou (Croton Seed, *Crotonis Fructus*) (remove oil, heart, membrane, extract oil, stir-fry), Guizhi (Cinnamon Twig, *Cinnamomi Ramulus*), Shujiao (Sichuan Pepper, *Zanthoxyli Pericarpium*) (remove eyes, stir-fry, 0.5 liang). Each herb is ground into a fine powder separately, then combined with Badou (Croton Seed, *Crotonis Fructus*) to ensure uniformity. Process with refined honey to form pills the size of tung tree seeds. Take 3 pills per dose, after meals and before bedtime, with ginger decoction. Gradually increase the dosage to 5–6 pills. This treats Wuji (Five Accumulations), Liuju (Six Gatherings), Shizhong Shuibing (Ten Types of Water Diseases), Bazhong Pise (Eight Types of Obstructions), Jiuzhong Xinteng (Nine Types of Heart Pain), Ershiqi Zhong Feng (Seventy-Two Types of Wind), Sanliliu Zhong Dunshi (Thirty-Six Types of Hidden Corpse Pathogens), and all diseases in women. For those suffering from chronic conditions leading to emaciation and exhaustion over years, taking this medicine ensures recovery without exception.

Yi Lao’s treatment for Wuji (Five Accumulations): Feiji Xiben (Lung Accumulation: Breathful Distension) adds Renshen (Ginseng Root, *Panacis Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma*) and Ziwan (Aster Root, *Asteris Radix et Rhizoma*); Xinji Fulian (Heart Accumulation: Hidden Beam) adds Changpu (Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma), Huanglian (Coptis Rhizome, *Coptidis Rhizoma*), and Taoren (Peach Seed, *Persicae Semen); Piji Piqi (Spleen Accumulation: Qi Stagnation) uses Wenbai Wan (Warm White Pill) plus Wuzhuyu (Evodia Fruit, *Evodiae Fructus*) and Ganjiang (Dried Ginger, *Zingiberis Rhizoma*); Ganji Feiqi (Liver Accumulation: Fat Qi) is Wenbai Wan (Warm White Pill) plus Qianghuo (Notopterygium Root, *Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix*), Duhuo (Angelica Pubescens Root, *Angelicae Pubescentis Radix*), and Fangfeng (Saposhnikovia Root, *Saposhnikoviae Radix*). The dosages of other herbs differ: Ziwan (Aster Root, *Asteris Radix et Rhizoma*), Wuzhuyu (Evodia Fruit, *Evodiae Fructus*), and Houpo (Magnolia Bark, *Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex*) are each 1.5 liang; Changpu (Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma), Chaihu (Bupleurum Root, *Bupleuri Radix*), Jiegeng (Platycodon Root, *Platycodi Radix*), Guizhi (Cinnamon Twig, *Cinnamomi Ramulus*), Ganjiang (Dried Ginger, *Zingiberis Rhizoma*), and Huanglian (Coptis Rhizome, *Coptidis Rhizoma*) are each 8 qian; Shujiao (Sichuan Pepper, *Zanthoxyli Pericarpium*), Badou (Croton Seed, *Crotonis Fructus*), and Renshen (Ginseng Root, *Panacis Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma*) are each 5 qian; Chuanwu (Aconite Lateral Root, *Aconiti Radialis Lateralis Praeparata*) is 8 qian. All are ground into fine powder, mixed uniformly with Badou (Croton Seed, *Crotonis Fructus*), and processed with refined honey into pills. Take 3 pills per dose, gradually increasing to 5–7 pills, after meals and before bedtime, with ginger decoction. It treats various wind disorders and is miraculous for myriad diseases. Pregnant women must avoid taking it. The expelled residues are discarded.
