For instance, if a snake-shaped mark appears on the skin of one's hand, causing unbearable pain, and this "snake" manifests during the day while the person is sleeping, the treatment involves pricking for blood as described previously, followed by dusting with powder of Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Bai Zhi). After two treatments, the shape will dissolve. One must prick the head first and then the tail; the order must not be confused.

If there is a sensation of an object moving in the throat, and expectoration of phlegm exacerbates the pain, accompanied by cracking of the skin on the body with fluid exudation, redness and swelling of the eyes without pain, and heaviness in the feet making walking difficult, this is caused by a centipede entering the body. Use Centipede (Wu Gong) to expel it. If the centipede has fully entered the epigastrium, only one person can be cured.

In another case, a fleshy thread grows inside one ear, which cannot be touched, appearing red-purple; this is due to Kidney Fire soaring into the ear. Use Borax (Peng Sha) 2 fen and Borneol (Bing Pian) 1 fen to apply locally.

Formula for treating blindness in both eyes: Use Astragali Complanati Semen (Sha Yuan Ji Li) 8 fen, stir-fried Chrysanthemi Flos (Bai Ju Hua) 1 qian, Equiseti Herba (Mu Zei Cao) 2 qian, Phaleni Fructus (Ye Ming Sha) 8 fen, and Haliotidis Concha (Shi Jue Ming) 1 qian.

Formula for treating Wang Deru's insomnia at night: Use Codonopsis Radix (Dang Shen) 1 qian, Poria (Fu Ling) 2 qian, Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Bai Zhu) 2 qian, Ziziphi Spinosae Semen (Zao Ren) 1 qian (half raw, half stir-fried), and Fagopyri Esculenti Grain (Qiao Mai) 1 qian.

Another formula for treating Wang Heming's insomnia at night: Use White Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Bai Dang Gui) 5 qian (washed with wine), Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Bai Zhu) 3 qian (stir-fried with soil), Rehmanniae Radix (Sheng Di) 6 qian, Poria (Fu Ling) 3 qian, and Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma (Chang Pu) [text incomplete].

Honeysuckle Flower (Jin Yin Hua) 1 liang, Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Dang Gui) 1 liang, Taraxaci Herba (Pu Gong Ying) 1 liang, Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gan Cao) 1 qian, Schizonepetae Herba (Jing Jie) 1 qian, Forsythiae Fructum (Lian Qiao) 1 qian. Decoct in water and take orally; it will surely heal after three doses.

Mao Ri Xing Jun said: I have two more formulas: For sores on the head and face, use Honeysuckle Flower (Jin Yin Hua) 2 liang, Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Dang Gui) 1 liang, Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma (Chuan Xiong) 5 qian, and Taraxaci Herba (Pu Gong Ying) 3 qian.

Another formula for treating sores and carbuncles on the hands and feet, which is highly effective. Use Honeysuckle Flower (Jin Yin Hua) 3 liang, Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Dang Gui) 1 liang, Raw Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Sheng Gan Cao) 3 qian, Taraxaci Herba (Pu Gong Ying) 3 qian, and Arctii Fructum (Niu Bang Zi) [text incomplete].

Xu Xian said: The symptoms of Lao Zhai (consumptive disease/tuberculosis) are indeed difficult to cure quickly even with Buddhist mental arts. Now, I establish a formula that is very mild and stable.
