For all sores and toxins, whether causing severe pain, no pain, or numbness resembling pain, moxibustion should be applied until the pain disappears; if there is no pain, moxa is applied until pain is felt. This way, the toxin dissipates with the fire heat, which is a method of "following the treatment" (treating according to the nature of the disease) and can also bring the dying back to life.
Operation: Take one garlic clove, peel it, and slice it into pieces about three qian (approx. 3 mm) thick. Place the slice on the sore, put the moxa cone on the garlic, and moxa for three Zhuang. Replace with a new garlic slice and continue moxibustion. If the abscess has not yet formed, it will dissipate; if it has already formed, its momentum can be suppressed so it causes no further harm. If the sore is large, mash the garlic and apply it to the affected area, cover with moxa wool, and burn. Replace the garlic when it burns out. If the sore is painless, does not suppurate, or does not form pus, or in cases of Yin toxicity, extensive moxibustion is especially suitable. If it remains painless, non-suppurative, and non-pus-forming despite moxibustion, it is incurable, indicating extreme deficiency of Qi and Blood.
Fa Bei (Back Abscess): Points: Xinshu (BL-15), Weiyang (BL-37) (One theory states it is located 1.6 cun below the coccyx, where there is a gap on the thigh).
Qizhuma Moxibustion Method (Riding Bamboo Horse Moxibustion): Indications: All kinds of carbuncles, malignant sores, Fa Bei, and women's mastitis.
Method: Use a thin bamboo strip. For men, use the left wrist; for women, the right wrist. Measure from the transverse crease of the Chize (LU-5) point to the tip of the middle finger. Cut this length as the standard. Use a bamboo pole. Have the patient remove their upper garment, sit upright on the bamboo pole, and have two people lift them from front and back so that the patient's feet do not touch the ground. Two other people should support the patient to prevent bending or swaying. Then, take the previously measured bamboo strip, place it starting from under the tailbone at the sitting position on the pole, align it along the spine upwards, and mark the end with ink. This is not the direct moxa point. Further, measure two Cun (using the patient's middle finger as the Same-Body Cun) with a thin bamboo strip. Align this horizontally with the spinal ink mark, and mark points one Cun to the left and right of the center. These are the points. Moxa each point for five to seven Zhuang. Another saying: If the ulcer appears on the left, moxa the right side; if on the right, moxa the left. In severe cases, moxa both sides. These two points are where the Heart Meridian passes. All carbuncles and ulcers are toxins stagnated by Heart Fire. Moxibustion here circulates Heart Fire and disperses toxins. The miracle of bringing the dead back to life has been tested repeatedly with success. Additionally, moxa the Zuoyou Dashou points and Huiyang (BL-35).
Nao Ding Hou Ju (Ulcer at the Back of the Crown): Also known as Tian Ju, commonly called Duikou Ding.
Point: For men, the left foot; for women, the right foot. At the center of the third flexion crease of the middle finger when bent downwards. Moxa with Qimo Moxa for seven Zhuang.

Qi Pi (Qi Distension): Inside abdominal wall/membrane, cup-shaped. Point: Zhangmen (LR-13).
Hexi Feng (Crane Knee Wind): Inner thigh/knee, swollen/painful, visible blue veins, foot heart pain. Due to deficiency of Two Yin. Points: Sanyinjiao (SP-6), Xiyan (EX-LE5) (Depression below knee).
Ye Qi (Axillary Odor): Shave armpit hair with sharp knife, apply Dingfen mixed with water. After 6-7 days, look for a black dot in armpit, needle-sized hole is the Qi orifice. Moxa rice-sized cone 3-4 Zhuang, prevents recurrence forever.
Du Chuang Jiu Bu Shou Kou (Chronic Non-healing Sore): Post-ulceration, slow healing, odorless pus, no necrotic tissue. Due to excessive depletion causing Qi/Blood deficiency and Cold, failing to nourish muscle. Improper treatment leads to lifelong affliction. Internal: Shiquan Dabu Tang etc. External: Large Fuzi (Aconite), soaked in warm water, sliced 2-3 fen thick, placed thickly on the leak hole, moxa. Or make Aconite powder cake with saliva and moxa. Repeat every 2-3 days, 3-5 times, muscle fills naturally, chronic issue resolved.
Huang La Moxibustion Method (Yellow Wax Moxibustion):
Make a circle with wet dough around the abscess base, approx. 1 Cun high, tight against skin like a well mouth, prevent leakage. Surround circle with several layers of cloth to protect skin from fire heat. Fill circle with wax shavings 3-4 fen thick. Suspend copper ladle with mulberry charcoal fire above wax to melt. Add wax shavings as needed until full. If skin is not painful, toxin is shallow; moxa until pain is felt. If skin is painful, toxin is deep; moxa until pain is lost. Remove fire ladle, spray cold water on wax. When cool, remove wax. Black/green bottom indicates toxin extraction. For diffuse swelling without head, test with wet paper, moxa where it dries first. Early stage: 1-2 times resolves. Established: 2-3 times ruptures. Hard edges: moxa directly on sore, wax enters deeper, better. Rotting pus dissolves, rapid convergence.
Dou Chi Bing Moxibustion Method (Fermented Soybean Cake Moxibustion):
For abscesses/fa bei, ruptured or not, use Jiangxi Dan Dou Chi powder, mix with yellow wine to make cake, thickness 3 fen, apply to sore. Replace when dry. If hole exists, do not cover hole, surround with cake, place moxa on top, keep mildly hot, do not break skin. Change if too hot. Moxa 3 times daily, let sore sweat, heals.
Qiluo Moxibustion Method (Woodlouse Moxibustion):
For malnutrition/eccentric sores unresponsive to drugs, take woodlouse, cut off ends, place on sore, moxa 7 Zhuang, replace once. Max 7 woodlice, all effective.
Shen Deng Zhao Fa (Divine Lamp Illumination Method):
Formula: Zhusha (Cinnabar), Xionghuang (Realgar), Xuexie (Dragon's Blood), Moyao (Myrrh) (each 2 qian), Shexiang (Musk) (4 fen).
Grind fine. Take 3 qian, wrap in red cotton paper, roll into 7 Cun stick, soak in sesame oil, light. Hold 0.5 Cun from sore, illuminate from outside in. Flame up, medicinal gas enters, toxin dissipates with fire, preventing internal invasion. Start with 3 sticks, increase to 4-5. When sore subsides, continue illuminating. After illumination, apply dressing around base, 2-3 Fen wider than sore halo. Cover sore with Wanying Gao. If dry/pus, wash with Pig Trotter Soup.
If already ruptured with heavy pus discharge, do not use lamp. Only useful in first 7 days to promote eruption. Makes unformed dissolve, formed rupture, non-eruptive erupt, non-putrefactive rot. Truly miraculous.
Sangchai Huo Hong Fa (Mulberry Branch Fire Roasting Method):
For early abscesses/swelling hard as stone, unruptured. Use new mulberry root strips or branches 9 Cun long, split finger-thick. Light one end, blow out flame, roast affected area. Replace when ashed. 3-4 branches per session, 2-3 times daily. Stop when heat, swelling reduces, flesh rots. Ancient method. Mulberry fire is strong, best for pre-rupture to generate Yang Qi, accelerate rupture/rot. Post-rupture, if sore is cold, weather cold, or muscle growth slow, must roast to keep muscle warm. Burn mulberry to red charcoal, hold in ladle above sore, roast from perimeter to center, or high/low, total sensation of heat. Replace dressing after daily roasting. Muscle generates when warm. Post-rupture roasting is indispensable in surgery.
