Sucking Mouth and Umbilical Wind (Cuo Kou Qi Feng)
Rangu (KI2).
Another method: Use a small moxa cone placed on garlic to moxibustion the umbilicus until an aroma of mugwort is perceived in the mouth, which indicates efficacy. In cases of umbilical wind, there is invariably a cyanotic vein ascending from below to the abdomen where it bifurcates.
Moxibustion should be applied to the head of this cyanotic vein with three cones; if two branches are seen, apply three cones to each branch head. This method can cure five or six out of ten cases; otherwise, if the pathogen ascends to attack the heart, it is incurable.
