Injured by venomous insects or snakes. Chew *Bai Zhi* (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix) thoroughly and apply it to the affected area. Additionally, mix *Bai Zhi* powder with wine and ingest it. For centipede bites, apply chicken urine. For HT injuries [Note: Original text likely contains a typo or specific reference], burn *Jue Qi Mang* (likely referring to parts of ferns) to ash, mix with sesame oil, and apply. For dog bites, apply tiger bone powder. For cat scratches, rub with mint (*Bo He*, Menthae Haplocalycis Herba). For bee or scorpion stings, chew *Ren Shen* (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma) and apply to the wound. Alternatively, burn various crab shells until they retain their properties (charred but preserving efficacy), grind into powder, mix with honey, and apply. For any injury caused by harmful creatures, applying moxibustion (several burns) directly on the wound site immediately is also beneficial.
Erysipelas (Fa Dan) presents with varied colors and shapes, and sensations of itching and pain differ. Generally, it arises from blood heat and deficient skin/muscle, where wind pathogen invades and combats. Red cases are most common; hence the name "Dan" (Cinnabar/Red). The appropriate formula is Xiao Feng San (Wind-Dispersing Powder), mixed with powdered burnt maple tree seeds (retaining properties), taken with wine. Cases presenting with white color are called "Leng Mo" (Cold Mo). The appropriate treatment is mixing Xiao Feng San with Hei Shen San (Black Divine Powder), taken with wine. This disease often results from loose muscle tissue and invasion by wind pathogen. Wind-heat manifests as redness; wind-cold manifests as whiteness. Thus, modern people call the red form "Dan" and the white form "Mo". Therefore, some recover by taking wine mixed with Tu Zhu (Earth Cinnabar/Hematite), because the Spleen governs muscles, Earth enters the Spleen, and things follow their kind. Ancient texts refer to a condition named Yin Zhen (Itchy Rash), which distinguishes cold and heat and encompasses all four qi (wind, cold, summer-heat, dampness). Recent medical theories call the white form "Bai Po Mo" and the red form "Xue Feng" (Blood Wind). Both red and white conditions can be treated with Wu Yao Shun Qi San (Wu Yao Qi-Circulating Powder) combined with Xiao Feng San, taken with wine. White cases mostly use Shun Qi San; red cases mostly use Xiao Feng San. Patients with this condition should also take decocted Huo Xiang Zheng Qi San (Patchouli Corrective Qi Powder). Some individuals must never consume chicken meat or zhang fish and other wind-aggravating foods; eating them triggers erysipelas. This indicates it is Spleen Wind. The Spleen governs the muscles of the whole body. Huo Xiang Zheng Qi San treats Spleen diseases, and Tu Zhu also enters the Spleen. This formula has proven effective in repeated trials.
Scrofula (Luo Li) is caused by stagnation and knotting of qi and blood, rooted in the zang-fu organs, often accumulating between the neck and jaw. They vary in size, appear in clusters, and present with alternating chills and fever, ulceration with pus and blood leakage, or recurrence after resolution. It is advisable to take two qian of Gui Mo (Cinnamon Twig Powder) and Hua Shi (Talcum) mixed in rice water the night before. At midnight, administer Hei Bai San (Black and White Powder). One will inevitably pass grape-like flesh through urination; passing several pieces will cure the swollen nodes. Afterwards, continuously take Si Qi Tang (Four Seven Decoction) with added Mu Xiang (Aucklandiae Radix); or take Su Zi Jiang Qi Tang (Perilla Fruit Descending Qi Decoction). Scrofula encircling the neck is colloquially called "Pan She" (Coiling Snake) and is difficult to treat. First, mash Shi Chang Pu (Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma) and apply to the lesion until slightly broken. Then, burn cat skin with hair to ash, mix with sesame oil, and apply. Take single-herb Bai Lian (Ampelopsis Radix) powder mixed with wine, preferably in large amounts. Also drink a mouthful of wine and apply Bai Lian to the lesion; fresh dug roots are best. Alternatively, mix Xiong Huang (Realgar) powder with pig bile and apply to the affected area, which is also effective.
