敷极热证 寒水石 大黄 焰硝 栀子（炒） 朴硝（研） 南星
上为末，生地黄汁或芙蓉叶汁调敷亦可。
南星膏 治毒发险处，以此药围之，可使移之不险处。
五倍子（一两，炒） 南星 草乌 黄柏 白芨（各二两）为末，醋调围渐收。
四虎散 治发背初生，筋脉紧急不舒。
附子（生，去皮，一两） 天南星（泡） 半夏（汤洗七次） 野狼毒（各五钱）上为细末，
热酒调成膏涂肿处，以帛掩定，虽觉热，如火烧无碍。
神效散 治痈疽发背，一切疔毒并瘰 等证。已成未成，皆可敷之。
川乌（炮去皮脐） 川黄柏（炙去粗皮）
上为末，唾调；唾少，漱口水调，敷患处。四围留头，药干用米泔不住润湿。已成溃烂，先
以槐枝、
艾叶煎汤洗净，以香油润之，日换一次。脓出无挤，痛减生肌，腐肉自落。不落剪去，不宜用针
。发背不宜贴膏药。忌怒气、房室、孝服、体气、饮酒人。忌一切发气热毒物。脑疽、对口不必
洗，逐次添药，恐进风。
又 白凤仙花科根、叶捣烂，先以陈醋洗，后敷药。一日一换，将好桑叶醋煮，贴，收口。
又 初起以风化锻石（二两） 细辛（一两）为末，醋调，敷三次。或白芷末，水调敷。
又 南星、赤小豆为末，醋调，或姜汁调围，或野苎麻根根捣围。
又 鼓捶草根（即土牛膝）捣围；或蒲公英（路边黄，花如菊）或羊蹄根捣敷。
神奇无敌膏 一切痈疽危毒，兼服紫金锭（蛊门），诸解毒，煎丸药。
桑柴灰（五升，绵纸衬淘箩内，滚水淋汁，钵盛，味淡则止；入碗重汤 浓如稀糊，）茄
灰、锻石（各五升，根据前法取汁）三汁熬成膏（亦可点轻毒，） 每膏一两调细，药取极真好者。
朱砂、雄黄、珍珠（绵裹打细，俱水飞，晒，重研万下、）冰片、硼砂、轻粉、乳香、没药
（俱人乳研化。各四分、）蟾酥（酒研，五分、）铜青（三分）、明矾、火硝（各六分、）牛黄
、麝香（各二分） 卤砂（五厘）。和研万下，膏搅极匀，入小口瓶塞紧，黄蜡浓封。每用少许，
涂毒正顶（勿着好肉，）药干，醋蜜润化，其毒爆出黑血、毒水，实时松解。疔疮加铁锈黄（细研
）涂顶，经宿，根出。
替针丸 脓成不得穿破者，可咬头出脓，溃后无内攻之患。
白丁香 卤砂（另研） 没药（另研） 乳香（研，各一钱） 糯米（四十粒） 用矿灰如
拳大，贮碗内量入井水化，待热
气将息，以米排灰中；良久米如水晶，取出候用。上各为末，和匀，以米粒研丸绿豆大，用一粒
安毒头上，将拔毒膏贴于外，脓自出。
又方（脓成不溃） 巴豆肉（一粒，不去油） 油盐豆豉（十四粒，含去皮，令软） 同研
烂， 入真麝香（少许），捏小饼安头上。
如有孔不大，溃出脓，捻作小麦样，用纸燃送入，痛少时脓大出，肉色黯不得去，用巴豆肉
炒黑，捣成膏涂之。
又 用鹅口茧（一个），烧灰酒调服，头破。
又 牛蒡子（一粒），酒吞下，可破。
巴油膏 解一切疮毒，及腐化瘀肉。最能推陈致新。
巴豆（去壳，炒焦，研如膏） 香油（少许） 共研匀，点些少于肿处（瘀肉自化，亦取收
敛。）
乳没生肌散 治诸般疮疡痈疽毒，凡一切新久诸疮，生肌收口。
软石膏（红色者尤佳，炭火 红，待冷去灰土，取研细，一两） 龙骨（三钱） 乳香、没
药（俱出汗，研末） 血竭 赤石脂（各一钱） 轻粉（五分） 上各研极细末，和匀重研，入
瓷罐，塞紧勿出气。疮毒洗净，挹干掺上，外贴膏药或护纸。
乌龙膏 治痈疽发背，疔毒疮疡，一切无名肿毒，HT 头，疖毒，跌扑损伤，流注，诸毒
恶疮。凡已破溃，不能生肌收口，悉宜贴之，抽脓拔毒，去腐生肌。及 疮、冻疮，汤火、灸疮
、杖伤、脚裂，杨梅毒久烂不收者，悉效。及五内诸痈，并宜为丸，蛤粉为衣，酒下；热毒，水
下；赤白带，当归汤；咳嗽，喉疾，绵裹含咽；一切头风赤眼，栀子汤下，仍贴太阳穴。跌打伤
，陈皮汤下；膝痛，盐汤下。
仍治妇人经闭血块，贴脐腹。虎犬伤、金疮、瘰 、梅毒，盐汤洗净，粘贴。
当归 赤芍药 官桂 大黄 生地黄 白芷 玄参（各一两）
锉细。芝麻油（二斤），浸药三日，入锅煎至药焦，以苎布滤去渣，净油再熬热滚。桃、柳
、槐三枝扎紧，不住手绞转，看青烟起，入水飞丹十二两（夏增冬减，）陆续倾入油，不住搅转
，滴水中成珠，不拈手为度。掇起安定缸上搅，喷水三口，扇令烟尽，薄绵滤入钵内，待冷，搅
入乳香、没药末（各五钱），数年不坏。
万灵膏 治风寒湿气，跌扑损伤，风毒香港脚，遍身疼痛，挫气闪肭，筋骨酸疼；及血风、
脓窠，裙边、 疮，手足一切诸疮毒，立效。
木鳖（去壳，二十个） 蓖麻（去壳，百粒） 威灵仙 当归 川芎 赤芍 防风 荆芥
羌活 独活 生地黄 白芷 黄芩 黄连 黄柏 姜黄（各二钱） 蛇蜕（一条） 麻油（冬七
两，夏五两，秋六两） 浸药一日，煎药焦，滤去渣，油入锅煎滚，下黄蜡（二两），次入嫩松
香（二斤，老松添油）。桃、柳枝搅化，滴水成珠，不拈手。预备水半缸，稀麻布一幅，铺绵少
许，二人扯定，将膏倾于布上，滤入水中，二人对扯黄色入钵，陆续置小器中微火炖，摊油纸或
布。如风气闪挫，捣，炒姜、葱擦患处。次贴膏药。泄泻、腹痛，贴脐上。
朱竭膏 贴诸疮尤效。
血竭 银朱 轻粉 乳香 没药（各二钱） 上各研细末和匀，以前万灵膏（四两），以手
蘸水，将诸末拌扯红色。
散毒膏 治一切痈疽发背，诸般肿毒热疖，HT 头毒、周身诸毒。初起贴之即消。有脓者
咬头出脓，去腐消肿，抽脓拔毒，脓尽亦能收口。前膏木鳖至蛇蜕，再加金银花、皂角刺、川山
甲（切碎）、麻油、黄蜡、松香，煎法相同。略不拈手，即取起扯黄，每斤用真铜青二两（米醋
少许研化、）真蟾酥二钱（酒少许研，）二味拌扯入膏内。用随大小捏薄，捺布上贴。如小者，
油纸摊。
神异膏 治痈疽、疮疡、肿毒，一切诸毒，甚效。
露蜂房（有子者一两，勿用新鲜者） 蛇蜕（盐水洗，焙，半两） 飞丹（拾二两） 真麻
油（二斤），先用黄 、玄参、杏仁（各一两），入油煎至黑色。方入蜂、蛇，男发一团，再煎
一时。不住以柳枝搅，将稀麻布一方，铺绵少许，幔钵口滤去渣，净油入锅，徐下飞丹，柳枝搅；
滴水捻，不沾为度。
Application for Extreme Heat Syndromes: Halloysitum Rubrum (Hanshuishi), Rheum Palmatum Rhizome (Dahuang), Saltpeter (Yanxiao), Gardenia Fruit (Zhizi, stir-fried), Mirabilite (Puxiao, ground), Arisaema Rhizome (Nanxing).
Grind the above into powder. It can also be applied externally by mixing with juice of Rehmannia Root (Shengdihuang) or Hibiscus Leaf (Furongye).
Arisaema Paste (Nanxing Gao): Treats toxic eruptions occurring in dangerous locations. Applying this medicine around the lesion can shift the toxicity to a less dangerous location.
Myrobalan (Wubeizi, 1 liang, stir-fried), Arisaema Rhizome (Nanxing), Aconitum Radix Lateralis Preparata (Caowu), Phellodendron Bark (Huangbai), Bletilla Tuber (Baiji) (each 2 liang). Grind into powder, mix with vinegar, and apply around the lesion until it gradually收敛 (contracts/heals).
Four Tigers Powder (Sihu San): Treats early-stage carbuncle on the back (Fabei) with tight and uncomfortable meridians and vessels.
Prepared Aconite Root (Fuzi, raw, peeled, 1 liang), Prepared Arisaema Rhizome (Tian Nanxing, processed), Pinellia Tuber (Banxia, washed seven times in decoction), Wild Euphorbia Root (Ye Langdu) (each 5 qian). Grind into fine powder. Mix with hot wine to form a paste and apply to the swollen area. Cover with cloth and secure firmly. Even if heat is felt, resembling a burn, it is harmless.
Divine Effect Powder (Shenxiao San): Treats carbuncles, sores, and fabei, as well as all types of ding toxins and scrofula (Luoli). It can be applied whether the abscess has formed or not.
Prepared Sichuan Aconite Root (Chuan Wu, processed, peeled, navel removed), Prepared Phellodendron Bark (Chuan Huangbai, roasted, coarse bark removed).
Grind into powder. Mix with saliva; if saliva is insufficient, use mouthwash water. Apply to the affected area. Leave the center uncovered. When the medicine dries, keep moistening with rice washing water. If ulcerated, first wash with decoction of Locust Tree Branches (Huai Zhi) and Mugwort Leaves (Ai Ye), then moisturize with sesame oil. Change once daily. Do not squeeze after pus drains. Pain reduction indicates muscle regeneration; necrotic tissue will fall off naturally. If it does not fall off, cut it off; do not use needles. Fabei should not be covered with plasters. Avoid anger, sexual intercourse, mourning attire, strong body odors, and alcohol. Avoid all substances that generate heat and toxicity. For brain carbuncles (Nao Ju) or occipital carbuncles (Duikou), do not wash; add medicine gradually to avoid wind invasion.
Another method: Mash roots and leaves of Impatiens balsamina (Baifengxian Hua Ke Genye). First wash with aged vinegar, then apply medicine. Change once daily. Boil good Mulberry Leaves (Sangye) in vinegar and apply to close the wound.
Another method: At the onset, grind Calcined Alumen (Fenghua Duanshi, 2 liang) and Asarum Root (Xixin, 1 liang) into powder. Mix with vinegar and apply three times. Alternatively, use Angelica Dahurica Powder (Baizhi) mixed with water.
Another method: Grind Arisaema Rhizome (Nanxing) and Adzuki Bean (Chixiaodou) into powder. Mix with vinegar, or ginger juice to apply around the lesion, or mash wild Ramie Root (Yezhuma Gen) to apply around.
Another method: Mash Groundsill Root (Guchui Caogen, i.e., Achyranthes Bidentata Root/Tuniuxi) to apply around; or Dandelion (Gongying, also known as Lubianhuang, flowers like chrysanthemum) or Rumex Root (Yangti Gen) mashed and applied.
Divine Invincible Paste (Shenqi Wudi Gao): Treats all critical toxic carbuncles and sores. Take concurrently with Purple Gold Pill (Zijin Ding, from Gu section) and other detoxifying pills/decoctions.
Ash of Mulberry Charcoal (Sangchai Hui, 5 sheng, lined with cotton paper in a sieve, leached with boiling water, collected in a bowl until taste is light; concentrated in a bowl over double boiler to thick paste consistency), Ash of Eggplant (Qie Hui), Calcined Alumen (Duanshi) (each 5 sheng, extract juice according to previous method). Boil the three juices into a paste (can also be used for mild toxicity). For every 1 liang of paste, finely mix with high-quality ingredients: Cinnabar (Zhusha), Realgar (Xionghuang), Pearl (Zhenzhu, wrapped in cotton, pounded fine, water-classified, dried, ground ten thousand times), Borneol (Bingpian), Borax (Pengsha), Calomel (Qingfen), Frankincense (Ruxiang), Myrrh (Moyao) (all dissolved in human milk, each 4 fen), Toad Venom (Chansu, dissolved in wine, 5 fen), Verdigris (Tongqing, 3 fen), Alum (Mingfan), Saltpeter (Huoxiao) (each 6 fen), Cow Bezoar (Niuhuang), Musk (Shexiang) (each 2 fen), Halite (Lusha, 0.5 li). Grind together ten thousand times. Stir paste thoroughly. Store in a small-mouthed bottle, tightly sealed, and sealed thickly with yellow beeswax. Use a small amount, apply to the peak of the toxin (avoid healthy skin). When dry, dissolve with vinegar and honey mixture. The toxin will burst out black blood and toxic fluid, providing immediate relief. For ding sores, add Iron Rust Yellow (Tiexiu Huang, finely ground) to the peak. After one night, the root emerges.
Needle Replacement Pill (Tizhen Wan): For cases where pus has formed but cannot be pierced, this pill can bite through the head to drain pus, preventing internal spread after ulceration.
White Stool (Baidingxiang), Halite (Lusha, ground separately), Myrrh (Moyao, ground separately), Frankincense (Ruxiang, ground) (each 1 qian), Glutinous Rice (Nuomi, 40 grains). Use mineral ash the size of a fist, store in a bowl, add well water to dissolve. Wait for heat to subside slightly, place rice among the ash; after a while, rice becomes crystal clear. Remove and set aside. Grind all ingredients into powder, mix evenly, and roll with rice grains into pills the size of mung beans. Place one pill on the toxin head, cover with external poison-pulling paste, and pus will drain spontaneously.
Another formula (for formed pus not ulcerating): Croton Seed Meat (Badou Rou, 1 grain, oil not removed), Salted Fermented Soybeans (Youyan Douchi, 14 grains, husk removed, softened). Grind together thoroughly. Add a little real Musk (Shexiang). Form into a small cake and place on the head.
If the opening is small and pus drains, shape like a wheat grain, wrap in paper, ignite, and insert. After slight pain, large amounts of pus will drain. If flesh color is dark, do not remove. Use Croton Seed Meat stir-fried until black, mashed into paste and applied.
Another method: Burn one Goose Mouth Cocoon (Ekou Jian) to ash, mix with wine and take orally to rupture the head.
Another method: Swallow one Burdock Seed (Niubangzi) with wine to rupture.
Croton Oil Paste (Bayou Gao): Resolves all sore toxins and decomposes necrotic stasis. Best at eliminating old and generating new.
Croton Seed (Badou, shelled, stir-fried until scorched, ground into paste) and Sesame Oil (Xiangyou, a little). Grind evenly. Apply a few drops to the swollen area (stasis will resolve, also aids contraction).
Frankincense and Myrrh Muscle-Generating Powder (Rumu Shengji San): Treats various sores, carbuncles, and toxins. Promotes muscle generation and wound closure for all new and old sores.
Soft Gypsum (Ruan Shigao, red variety is best, heated in charcoal fire until red, cooled, ash removed, ground fine, 1 liang), Dragon Bone (Longgu, 3 qian), Frankincense (Ruxiang), Myrrh (Moyao) (both "sweated" and ground), Dragon's Blood (Xuexie), Red Kaolin (Chishizhi) (each 1 qian), Calomel (Qingfen, 5 fen). Grind all into extremely fine powder, mix evenly, and re-grind. Store in a porcelain jar, tightly sealed to prevent air leakage. Clean the sore toxin, dry it, sprinkle the powder on top, and cover with plaster or protective paper externally.
Black Dragon Paste (Wulong Gao): Treats carbuncles, fabei, ding toxins, sores, all unnamed swellings, HT head, furuncles, falls and bruises, flowing deposits, and all malignant sores. Suitable for all broken ulcers unable to regenerate muscle and close wounds. Draws out pus, pulls out toxins, removes necrosis, and generates muscle. Also effective for frostbite, burns, moxa sores, cane injuries, cracked feet, chronic yaws (Meidu) ulcers that do not heal. For internal abscesses, make into pills coated with Clam Powder (Ge Fen), taken with wine; for heat toxins, taken with water; for leukorrhea, taken with Angelica Decoction; for cough and throat disorders, wrapped in cotton and sucked/swallowed; for all wind-headaches and red eyes, taken with Gardenia Decoction, still applying to Taiyang acupoint. For trauma, taken with Tangerine Peel Decoction; for knee pain, taken with salt water.
Also treats amenorrhea and blood clumps in women; apply to umbilicus and abdomen. For tiger/dog bites, metal wounds, scrofula, and syphilis, wash with salt water and paste.
Angelica Root (Danggui), Red Peony Root (Chishaoyao), Cassia Twig (Guangui), Rhubarb (Dahuang), Rehmannia Root (Shengdihuang), Angelica Dahurica (Baizhi), Scrophularia Root (Xuanshen) (each 1 liang).
Cut finely. Soak in Sesame Oil (Zhima You, 2 jin) for three days. Boil in pot until herbs are scorched. Filter residue using ramie cloth. Re-boil clean oil until rolling. Tie Peach, Willow, and Locust branches tightly. Continuously twist and stir. When blue smoke rises, add Water-Classified Lead Oxide (Feidan, 12 liang, increase in summer, decrease in winter). Pour into oil continuously while stirring. Drop into water to form beads that do not stick to fingers. Lift and stir over a stable vat. Spray water three times. Fan until smoke disappears. Filter through thin cotton into a bowl. Cool down. Stir in Frankincense and Myrrh powders (each 5 qian). Can last for years without spoiling.
Ten Thousand Spirits Paste (Wanling Gao): Treats wind-cold-dampness, falls and bruises, wind-toxic gout (Hongniangjiao), whole-body pain, sprains, bone and muscle soreness; also blood-wind, pustules, skirt-edge sores, and all hand/foot sores/toxins. Immediate effect.
Spurge Apple (Mubie, shelled, 20), Castor Seed (Bima, shelled, 100), Spirit Flower Root (Weilingxian), Angelica Root (Danggui), Ligusticum Rhizome (Chuanxiong), Red Peony Root (Chishao), Saposhnikovia Root (Fangfeng), Schizonepeta Spike (Jingjie), Notopterygium Rhizome (Qianghuo), Angelica Pubescens Root (Duhuo), Rehmannia Root (Shengdihuang), Angelica Dahurica (Baizhi), Scutellaria Root (Huangqin), Coptis Rhizome (Huanglian), Phellodendron Bark (Huangbai), Turmeric (Jianghuang) (each 2 qian), Snake Slough (Shetui, 1 strip), Hemp Oil (Mayou, 7 liang in winter, 5 liang in summer, 6 liang in autumn). Soak herbs for one day. Boil until scorched. Filter residue. Boil oil in pot. Add Beeswax (2 liang). Then add Young Pine Rosin (2 jin, add more oil for old rosin). Stir with peach and willow branches until dissolved. Drop into water to form beads that do not stick to fingers. Prepare half a vat of water. Lay a piece of thin hemp cloth with some cotton. Two people hold it taut. Pour paste onto cloth. Filter into water. Two people pull the yellow paste into a bowl. Place in small containers and simmer gently. Spread on oiled paper or cloth. For wind-sprains, mash stir-fried ginger and onion and rub on affected area. Then apply paste. For diarrhea and abdominal pain, apply to umbilicus.
Cinnabar and Dragon's Blood Paste (Zhujie Gao): Especially effective for applying to sores.
Dragon's Blood (Xuexie), Silver Cinnabar (Yinzhu), Calomel (Qingfen), Frankincense (Ruxiang), Myrrh (Moyao) (each 2 qian). Grind all into fine powder and mix evenly. Take 4 liang of previous Wanling Gao. Dip hands in water. Mix powders with paste until red.
Poison-Dispersing Paste (Sandu Gao): Treats all carbuncles, fabei, various swellings, hot furuncles, HT head toxins, and whole-body toxins. Applied at onset, it dissipates immediately. For those with pus, it bites the head to drain pus, removes necrosis, reduces swelling, draws out pus and toxins, and closes wounds when pus is exhausted. Previous ingredients from Mubie to Shetui. Add Honeysuckle Flower (Jinyinhua), Gleditsia Sinensis Thorn (Zaojiaoci), Pangolin Scales (Chuanshanjia, chopped), Hemp Oil, Beeswax, Pine Rosin. Frying method same. When it barely sticks to fingers, lift and pull yellow. For every jin, add 2 liang real Verdigris (Tongqing, dissolved in a little rice vinegar) and 2 qian real Toad Venom (Chansu, dissolved in a little wine). Mix these two into the paste. Shape thinly according to size, press onto cloth and apply. For small ones, spread on oiled paper.
Divine Miracle Paste (Shenyi Gao): Treats carbuncles, sores, swellings, and all toxins. Very effective.
Honeycomb (Lufengfang, 1 liang with larvae, do not use fresh), Snake Slough (Shetui, washed in salt water, baked, 0.5 liang), Water-Classified Lead Oxide (Feidan, 12 liang), True Hemp Oil (Zhen Mayou, 2 jin). First fry Huangqi, Scrophularia Root (Xuanshen), and Apricot Kernel (Xingren) (each 1 liang) in oil until black. Then add honeycomb and snake slough, plus a tuft of male hair. Fry for another hour. Continuously stir with willow branch. Lay a piece of thin hemp cloth with some cotton over the bowl mouth to filter residue. Put clean oil back in pot. Slowly add Feidan. Stir with willow branch. Drop into water and pinch; stop when it does not stick.
