My master secretly transmitted the *Shen Ying Jing* (Divine Response Classic), in which the Taiyi Tongxuan acupuncture method is the most efficacious. Every word in the text constitutes a profound classic; even ten thousand taels of gold would be considered light for such learning. One must earnestly not forget these highly effective experiences, keeping in mind the ability to treat diseases like a divine physician. Before inserting the needle, warm it in the mouth, and observe the patient's pulse to examine its floating or sunken quality. For Yin diseases, use Yang meridians; for Yang diseases, use Yin meridians, and clearly select Shen (Spirit) points that regulate Yin and Yang. Deficiency patterns are suitable for tonification, while excess patterns are suitable for sedation; when Qi arrives at the needle, the root of the disease is severed. The sensation of Qi arrival resembles the tail of a swinging dragon; if Qi has not yet arrived, stop manipulating the needle and wait for Qi. Whenever using needle manipulation techniques, one must first master the key principles, as Xi Hong clearly expounded upon these mysteries. For Qi stagnation affecting the chest and breasts, seek Taiyuan (LU-9); if Qi does not arrive, needle Lieque (LU-7). Lieque treats headaches, including lateral and frontal types; heavy sedation of Taiyuan yields universal efficacy. For deafness, Qi obstruction, asthma, and chest fullness, one must seek Zusanli (ST-36) for recovery. For hand spasms and leg bi-syndrome with unbearable pain, Hegu (LI-4) should still be combined with sedation of Taichong (LR-3). Quchi (LI-11) governs arm dysfunction; when needling Hegu, one must be careful. Heartache with hand tremors can be treated at Shaohai (HT-3); to eradicate the root, needle Yinshi (SP-15). If bilateral deafness results from Shanghan (Cold Damage), Ermen (TE-21) and Tinghui (GB-2) act swiftly like wind. For five types of elbow pain, needle Chize (LU-5); a single insertion into Lengyuan (SI-10) yields miraculous merit. Shousanli (LI-10) and Zusanli (ST-36) jointly treat food stagnation,痞 (痞证: abdominal masses/fullness), Qi lumps, and phlegm nodules. Jiutui (CV-15) alone treats various forms of epilepsy; if Yongquan (KI-1) is needled, death is avoided. Generally, 痞 (abdominal fullness/masses) is best treated with acupuncture; point selection requires attentive searching. Press the area with your hand; if there is no movement, needle towards the center according to depth. For gastric accumulation, take Xuanji (CV-15); the profound efficacy of Zusanli (ST-36) is unknown to many. Yinlingquan (SP-9) governs chest fullness; if Chengshan (BL-57) is needled, dietary intake will improve. If Dazhui (GV-14) is combined with Changqiang (GV-1), intestinal Qi distension can be cured immediately. Qichong (ST-30) requires skillful palpation; ensure the divine needle earns praise. Weizhong (BL-40) governs lower back pain; for swollen feet and knees, seek Zhiyin (BL-67). Dryness, dampness, wind-toxin, and Qi stagnation contain profound mysteries and deep meanings. Qi-strike lower back pain preventing standing: Henggu (KI-12) and Dadu (SP-13) are suitable for emergency rescue. If blood stasis attacks and treatment is delayed, it may transform into Wind syndromes. Qihai (CV-6) specifically treats the Five Lin (dysuria syndromes); tonification via Zusanli (ST-36) is efficacious as a god. It treats both cold and heat patterns, and can eradicate chronic turbid discharge and stubborn diseases. Qimen (LR-14) governs Shanghan patients who have passed seven days without sweating after the meridian transmission. In the space between the double ribs below the nipple, insert four fen deep to restore health. Cicada-like ringing in the ears and waist feeling like breaking: clearly below the knee lies Zusanli (ST-36). If tonification and sedation are applied at Wuhui (EX-EN2), do not easily share this secret with others. How to regulate tooth-wind headache? Erjian (LI-2) is indispensable. Furthermore, Sanjian (LI-3) holds divine properties, capable of dispelling wind-labor in the shoulder and back. Needling Hegu (LI-4) follows the flow of Qi; within the Spleen meridian, Ying-Sui (following and opposing) directs Qi to gather. For cold diseases, Hegu must also be needled, and Yinjiao (SP-6) on the foot should be sedated. Pain throughout the spine and back: needle Jianjing (GB-21); failing to sedate Zusanli causes stifling discomfort. Pain in both arms and thighs: a golden needle insertion acts like a divine miracle. For foot and knee pain, Weizhong (BL-40) is suitable; additionally, apply Fengzhen (filiform needle) for spasms. If Yinlingquan (SP-9) is found, walking becomes agile like flying. How difficult is it to treat lower back and abdominal distension? Needle Zusanli (ST-36) and Chengshan (BL-57) near the abdomen. Further apply tonification and sedation to Taichong (LR-3); finger numbness will instantly resolve. Headache with tendon cramping in the calf muscle (Yufu): back carbuncles and hemorrhoids cause mutual suffering. Another excellent point is Yanglingquan (GB-34); for leg pain and tendon stiffness, it works miraculously. Intestinal pain is regulated by Yinlingquan (SP-9); ear ringing is addressed by Tinghui (GB-2). Seek the excellent point Taixi (KI-3); applying sedation here is supreme. For abdominal distension with floating or sunken pulses, seduate Shuifen (CV-9); for coarse breathing, Zusanli (ST-36) must also be needled. Further seek YinGu (KI-10) below the knee; dribbling urination and swelling will naturally subside. Huantiao (GB-30) removes thigh and leg wind; cold wind knee bi and malaria are similar. The best is to locate Fengchi (GB-20) accurately; following with Jianshi (PC-5) begins to show efficacy. On the first day of Shanghan, regulate Fengfu (GV-16); on the second day of Shaoyang disease, take Fengchi (GB-20). If the disease passes through meridians on days three, five, or seven, needling according to this method yields universal response. For heartache and vomiting, Shangwan (CV-13) is suitable; Fenglong (ST-40) leaves no doubt. Roundworms emerging alongside Shanghan: direct golden needle insertion reveals a clear-minded physician. For men's hernia masses, take Shaoshang (LU-11); for women's blood and Qi disorders, Yinjiao (SP-6) is appropriate. For deficiency sweating and night sweats, tonification is required; the efficacy of Weizhong (BL-40) can be proclaimed. Stiff neck, swelling, pain, and difficulty bending/extending: accompanied by heaviness and lower back paralysis. Combine Bugu (BL-65) with Zusanli (ST-36) needling to bring instant joy. Spinal injury causing inability to turn the waist, difficult movements, trembling gait: wandering wind causing facial puffiness; a single insertion into Fuliu (KI-7) inspires envy. Chronic lower back pain and scapular labor: only seek Zhongzhu (TE-3) for regulation. During needle manipulation, search attentively; ensure your insight improves from now on. Lower back, back, and umbilical pain unceasing: Shousanli (LI-10) in the hand can be sought. When the divine needle is not yet out, urgent sedation is needed; once Qi arrives, retention is unnecessary. Abdominal soft stool is hardest to treat; combine Jianshi (PC-5) with Qihai (CV-6). Zhongji (CV-3) is also needled like Zusanli; one must understand tonification and sedation, observing minute details.
