太过即自伤木也）其病眩掉目瞑（气令太过即肝自病）太角初（以木为初即壬戌对壬辰正）少征（即壬戌生癸亥壬辰生
癸巳此初元生二元癸火运巳亥阴故少征征即火之阴也）太宫（此癸亥生甲子癸巳生甲午也子午阳年也故太过甲土运故太
宫宫土音也此资生第三元）少商（此甲子生乙丑甲午生乙未乙金运丑未阴年不及故少商商金音也此资生第四元也）太羽
终（常以木初水终是六气之首尾也即角羽二字见初终也此是乙丑生丙寅乙未生丙申也丙水运寅申阳年主太过故太羽羽水
音也此资生第五元）少角（此一阴素问中不下即隐于还周也此第六元复始还周也却至于角也即复于始也次有一位即别起
元头此第六元丙寅生丁卯丙申生丁酉丁木运故少角卯酉阴年不及故少也即丁复见壬也丁壬合其干德丁壬木运复见角故曰

The Yellow Emperor asked: What is the administration of Taiyang? Qibo replied: This is the record of Chen and Xu years.
Taiyang (Because Wood Yun adds to Taiyang, it serves as the first Yuan) Taijue (Middle Yun is excessive Wood Yun; Jue is the tone of Wood, hence called Taijue). Taiyin (The Yin-Qian Qi is Taiyin Damp Earth). Ren-Chen, Ren-Xu (Xu year is Zheng-Hua, Chen year is Dui-Hua).
Its Yun is Wind (Wood Qi transforms into Wind; Ding-Ren years are Wood Yun, hence Wind prevails). Its transformation manifests as sounding, disorder, opening, and splitting (Receiving the First Qi, wind sounds through branches, causing disorder, opening and splitting, allowing all things to sprout and begin to grow). Its variations manifest as shaking, pulling, destroying, and uprooting (Wind originally belongs to Wood transformation; if excessive, it self-injures Wood Qi). Its diseases manifest as dizziness, tremors, and blindness (Excessive Qi command leads to Liver self-disease).
Taijue First Yuan (Taking Wood as the First Yuan, i.e., Ren-Xu Dui-Hua corresponds to Ren-Chen Zheng-Hua). Shaozheng (i.e., Ren-Xu generates Gui-Hai, Ren-Chen generates Gui-Si; this First Yuan generates the Second Yuan; Gui Fire Yun; Si-Hai are Yin years, hence Shaozheng; Zheng is the Yin image of Fire). Taigong (This Gui-Hai generates Jia-Zi, Gui-Si generates Jia-Wu; Zi-Wu are Yang years, hence excessive; Jia Earth Yun, hence Taigong; Gong is the tone of Earth; this is the Third Yuan of Zisheng). Shaoshang (This Jia-Zi generates Yi-Chou, Jia-Wu generates Yi-Wei; Yi Metal Yun; Chou-Wei are Yin years with deficiency, hence Shaoshang; Shang is the tone of Metal; this is the Fourth Yuan of Zisheng). Taiyu Final (Usually starting with Wood and ending with Water, these are the head and tail of the Six Qi, i.e., Jue and Yu characters appear at the beginning and end. This Yi-Chou generates Bing-Yin, Yi-Wei generates Bing-Shen; Bing Water Yun; Yin-Shen are Yang years governing excess, hence Taiyu; Yu is the tone of Water; this is the Fifth Yuan of Zisheng). Shaojue (This one Yin is not listed in Suwen, hidden within the return cycle. This Sixth Yuan restarts the cycle, returning to Jue, i.e., back to the beginning. Next is a position, starting a new Yuan head. This Sixth Yuan Bing-Yin generates Ding-Mao, Bing-Shen generates Ding-You; Ding Wood Yun, hence Shaojue; Mao-You are Yin years with deficiency, hence Shao. i.e., Ding reappears with Ren; Ding-Ren combine their Heavenly Stems virtue; Ding-Ren Wood Yun reappears as Jue, hence called Huanzhou/Return Cycle).
Taiyang (Fire Yun adds to Taiyang, hence the Second Yuan, ruling Tian). Taizheng (Middle Yun is excessive Fire Yun; Zheng is the tone of Fire, hence Taizheng). Taiyin (Below sees Taiyin Damp Earth ruling Yin-Qian). Wu-Chen, Wu-Xu (Chen is Dui-Hua, Xu is Zheng-Hua).
Its Yun is Heat (Wu Fire Yun; Chen-Xu are Yang years; Fire acts with Heat command, hence Heat). Its transformation manifests as warmth, summer heat, stagnation, and mugginess (All belong to Fire, its Qi is surplus, hence severe heat). Its variations manifest as fierce burning and boiling (Fire command is strong, wild waters become like soup, hence boiling; corresponding to excessive Fire. However, here it is not so. If Wu-Yin, Wu-Shen, Wu-Zi, Wu-Wu all correspond to Heat Yun governing excess, but now it is not so because Wu-Xu and Wu-Chen have Taiyang Water ruling Tian above, hence it does not correspond). Its disease is Heat stagnation (Also does not correspond).
Shaosheng (Zheng is the tone of Fire, i.e., Wu-Chen, Wu-Xu Wu Fire Yun, Chen-Xu Yang years. Yang years should be Da Hui (excessive), but now it is Shaosheng because the ruling Tian Water overcomes it, hence Shaosheng). Shaogong (i.e., Wu-Chen generates Ji-Si, Wu-Xu generates Ji-Hai; Ji Earth Yun; Si-Hai Yin years, Yin years have deficiency, hence Shaogong; Gong is the tone of Earth; this is the Second Yuan of Zisheng). Taishang (This Ji-Si generates Geng-Wu, Ji-Hai generates Geng-Zi; Geng Metal Yun, hence Shang; Zi-Wu Yang years, Yang years govern great excess, hence Taishang; Shang is the tone of Metal; this is the Third Yuan of Zisheng). Shaoyu Final (Yu Water governs the end. This Geng-Zi generates Xin-Chou, Geng-Wu generates Xin-Wei; Xin Water Yun; Chou-Wei Yin years with deficiency, hence Shaoyu; Yu is the tone of Water; this is the Fourth Yuan of Zisheng). Taijue Initial (Usually taking Wood as the First Qi. This Xin-Chou generates Ren-Yin, Xin-Wei generates Ren-Shen; Ren Wood Yun, hence Jue; Yin-Shen Yang years, Yang years govern excess, hence Taijue; Jue is the tone of Wood; this is the Fifth Yuan of Zisheng). Shaosheng (This Ren-Yin generates Gui-Mao, Ren-Shen generates Gui-You; Gui Fire Yun, hence Zheng; Mao-You Yin years, Yin years have deficiency, hence Shaosheng; Zheng is the tone of Fire. The previous head was Wu, now in the Six Yuan we see Gui; Wu-Gui Heavenly Stems combine into Fire, hence called Huanzhou/Return Cycle).
Taiyang (Ruling Tian, upper Yun Taiyang, hence the Third Yuan). Taigong (Middle sees Earth Yun, Gong is the tone of Earth). Taiyin (Below sees Taiyang Cold Water ruling Yin-Qian). Jia-Chen Suihui, Jia-Xu Suihui (Xu is Zheng-Hua, Chen is Dui-Hua, Yun is together with Yin-Qian Earth, hence named Tong Suihui/Same Year Meeting).
Its Yun is Yin Mist (Earth Yun operates Damp transformation, hence sinking Yin mist and gloom). Its transformation manifests as softness, moisture, and heavy dew (Earth issues Rain command, i.e., fine drizzle, moistening all things). Its variations manifest as shock, sudden gusts (Severe thunderstorms and violent winds, commanding heavy rain execution). Its disease is Dampness weighing down the lower body (Excess injures Spleen, diseases often involve diarrhea and sticking).
Taigong (Earth tone, Jia Earth Yun, i.e., Jia-Chen, Jia-Xu Chen-Xu Yang years, Yang year birth is excessive, hence Taigong as head). Shaoshang (This Jia-Chen generates Yi-Si, Jia-Xu generates Yi-Hai; Yi Metal Yun, Shang Metal tone, Ji-Hai Yin year, Yin year has deficiency, hence Shaoshang; this is the Second Yuan of Zisheng). Taiyu Final (This Yi-Si generates Bing-Wu, Yi-Hai generates Bing-Zi; Bing Water Yun, Yu Water tone, Zi-Wu Yang years, Yang years govern excess, hence Taiyu; this is the Third Yuan of Zisheng). Taijue Initial (This Bing-Wu generates Ding-Wei, Bing-Zi generates Ding-Chou; Ding Wood Yun, Jue Wood tone, Chou-Wei Yin years should have deficiency, but now Taijue? Why? Ding originally in Wei, here combining with Zhifu, hence Taijue. i.e., Ding-Wei Taijue, Ding-Chou Shaojue, hence two theories; this is the Fourth Yuan of Zisheng). Taizheng (This Ding-Wei generates Wu-Shen, Ding-Chou generates Wu-Yin; Wu Fire Yun, Zheng Fire tone, Yin-Shen Yang years govern excess, hence Taizheng; this is the Fifth Yuan of Zisheng). Shaogong (This Wu-Yin generates Ji-Mao, Wu-Shen generates Ji-You; Ji Earth Yun, Gong Earth tone. This re-sees Jia; Jia-Ji combine; this Six Yuan returns to the start).
Taiyang (Ruling Tian, this Metal Yun Taiyang, hence the Fourth Yuan). Taishang (Middle sees Metal Yun). Taiyin (Below sees Taiyin Damp Earth ruling Yin-Qian). Geng-Chen, Geng-Xu (Chen is Dui-Hua, Xu is Zheng-Hua).
Its Yun is Coolness (Metal Yun operates Cool command, hence cool; nature of Metal is cool). Its transformation manifests as fog, dew, and desolation (Metal distributes climate; among white haze, fog commands frost and dew, trees wither, Metal wind is desolate). Its variations manifest as solemn killing and withering (Metal Yun operates solemn killing, leaves fall pale before turning yellow, decaying). Its disease is Dryness, back oppression, chest fullness (Metal disease is excessive Dryness, i.e., Lung disease, long-term affecting Liver, hence chest fullness and confusion).
Taishang (Shang Metal tone, Geng Metal Yun, Geng-Chen, Geng-Xu Chen-Xu Yang years, hence Taishang). Shaoyu Final (This Geng-Chen generates Xin-Si, Geng-Xu generates Xin-Hai; Xin Water Yun, Yu Water tone, Ji-Hai Yin year with deficiency, hence Shaoyu; this is the Second Yuan of Zisheng). Shaojue (This Xin-Si generates Ren-Wu, Xin-Hai generates Ren-Zi; Ren Wood Yun, Jue Wood tone, Zi-Wu Yang years should be excessive, but now Shaojue? Because Wu is Fire, Wood becomes empty due to Fire, hence Shaojue. i.e., Ren-Wu Shaojue, Ren-Zi Taijue, hence two theories; this is the Third Yuan of Zisheng).
